Footage shows a convicted paedophile mixing with around 200 kids for a film shooting in London’s Leicester Square.

Jacky Jhaj, 38, who is on the sex offenders register, can be seen on a red carpet that was set up outside the Odeon Luxe cinema to resemble a movie premiere, on October 17. He is seen moving up and down, wearing different outfits and greets some of the extras.

The cast is seen close to Jhaj with some holding out their hands to touch him. Jhaj, from Feltham, was jailed for four years in 2016 for four counts of sexual activity with two girls, both aged 15 at the time.

He was convicted at Isleworth Crown Court where it was heard he would drive a silver Range Rover near a school in west London, and offer schoolchildren lifts and buy them alcohol. He also took them to parties where there would be other pupils present. He built up relationships with pupils at the school and began grooming two 15-year-old girls.

Detective Constable Nav Johal, the investigating officer from Hounslow CID, praised the victims for providing evidence. He said: "Thanks to the courage and bravery of the young vulnerable victims who gave evidence, a dangerous sexual predator has been brought to justice.

"I am hopeful that the verdict and sentencing will give them some peace and closure, and they will be able to, in time, move forward from this difficult period. Joint partnership with schools work is crucial to continue to tackle offences related to grooming and this case highlights the importance of working in partnership to ensure such offenders are apprehended.

"Continued education of children at school and at home on such matters is important and they can, in turn, hopefully highlight any concerns to the police and other relevant authorities." The new footage obtained by the BBC was at an event organised by “Project BRT” - that hired 90 kids aged six to 14 from the agency Jam 2000. There were also around 100 young women aged from 16 to 24 who were booked from a company called Uni-versal Extras.

The BBC has said that it has seen text messages and other correspondences sent by Universal Extras when booking older cast. Also after the event.it allegedly sent actors an email saying it had become aware after the event that member of the case had a criminal record.

In one email it stated: "[The Metropolitan Police] assured us that there is no cause for concern in relation to Artiste safety and there were no restrictions placed on this individual preventing him working with, or being near, any of our Artistes, including those under 18."

The Met Police has, reported the BBC, said that Jhaj has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders' register - failure to comply with the registration of a new passport and providing notification of travel seven days prior to departure. He has also been charged with breaching his sexual harm prevention order by failing to supply a mobile phone for inspection. He has not yet been required to provide a plea, said the police.
