Terrified Katie Price had to made an emergency medical dash after her eye suddenly starts bleeding.

The 45-year-old mum of five spoke about her health scare after daughter Bunny, nine, suddenly noticed the problem. She went straight to the doctors and the worried star was told she had a haemorrhage – a broken blood vessel which made her bleed on to the surface of the eye.

The TV star says it could have been caused by stress because she is 'dealing with so much' at the moment. She told her sister Sophie on her podcast The Katie Price Show: "I woke up to get Bunny ready for school at seven in the morning. She was going 'Mum, mum, your eye's bleeding'.

"I said: 'What do you mean, my eye's bleeding?' She went, 'It is, inside your eye.' And I thought, 'Is she winding me up?' cos she's always pranking me. Then I looked in the mirror and I was like, 'S**t, what the f**k's happened to my eye?' I thought I can't leave my eye like this, I don't know what it is, I've never seen it before in my life, what's it bleeding and what's happened? I just woke up like this."

The trip to the doctors didn't prevent Katie attended the premiere of The Psychopath Life Coach. Saying she didn't want to cancel a work commitment, she was spotted on the red carpet with a bloodied eye but didn't explain why until she addressed the issue on her show.

She went on: "I've had a haemorrhage in my eye and I said, 'Well, what causes it?' Stress can cause it – there are a lot of stresses behind the scenes in my life, like, not work stuff. I love the work, but other stuff that I'm deal dealing with. Everyone has stresses, I just wish my stress didn't show in my eye."

Katie was likely referring to her terminally ill mother Amy, who has issued a devastating health update after undergoing a crucial lung transplant last year. She underwent the surgical procedure without her two daughters Katie, and Sophie, and her son Dan knowing – and once admitted that she believed she briefly died on the operating table after going into cardiac arrest. In 2017, Amy was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a terminal lung disease, and was tragically given three to five years to live.

Amy said on the podcast: "The next day I went into cardiac arrest and they had to pump me to bring me back," before her daughter Katie asked: "How many times did you die, Mum?" "Only the once," Amy explained before going on to say she has no recollection of the traumatic experience but was apparently shouting: "I can't breathe, I can't breathe."

She continued: "That's because I was filling up with blood and fluid. I was dreaming, thinking 'I've got to survive until 5 o'clock, I'm hot, I'm sweaty, I can't breathe'." Amy claimed that she was thinking medical staff wanted to 'kill' her during the surgery and was hoping she would get to 5pm when they finished their shift.
