Anyone with a Ring Doorbell can jazz it up this Christmas or scare away unwanted guests with a rather familiar festive voice.

In recent years a number of people have purchased and installed Ring Video Doorbells on their front door, in order to make themselves feel a little safer and keep an eye on people coming to their home. But this Christmas, those with the special doorbell could provide some festive cheer for those who pay them a visit.

All you need to do to select a new chime is make sure you've got the Ring app installed on your phone or tablet. From 'Festive Ding Dong' to 'Holiday Jingle' and 'Holiday Ding Dong', there is a range of choices. But, one savvy mum has shared that there are even more festive settings and options that people may not know about.

Taking to Facebook group Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas, she revealed she had found a range of sounds from beloved Jimmy Carey Christmas film The Grinch. One of the chime says: 'Hello, it's the Grinch - leave a message after the weird sound I'm about to make'. Another chimes: 'A visitor? To this house? MAX! (barks) Ugh, fine. They'll be right there."

There are six Grinch Quick Replies, voiced by James Austin Johnson from Saturday Night Live. These can be added to your device through the Ring app by navigating to the Devices menu and selecting your doorbell. Then click Smart Responses and pick Quick Replies, and enjoy all available options.

One person commented underneath the mum's post and said: "Omg this is amazing." "I had no idea, I just changed it," another added. However some seemed not as impressed with the sound options, and others said the chimes have provided a lot of entertainment.

"I've done this but I think he sounds more like Peter Griffin," one commented. One user said: ""My husband has done this to ours ... not going to lie its embarrassing when the post woman is standing facing me and The Grinch is talking."

One wrote: "I'm sorry but it sounds like Peter Griffin." One revealed: "We've got this on ours the postman's face when it clicks in is funny."

Ring, a company owned by Amazon, has some impressive offers on during the Black Friday sales. The second-gen version of the device has already seen a 50% discount, taking it from £99.99 to £49.99.
