A woman has gone all out this year with an extreme Christmas display - but not everyone in the neighbourhood is a fan.

Professional wreath maker Hannah Cox put on a show-stopping festive door last year, which featured £700 worth of pink decorations. However, she didn't expect the festive display, complete with a six-foot tall Nutcracker, to bring out the inner-Scrooge in her neighbours.

Hannah originally planned on creating a Grinch theme for her comeback this year, but instead settled on something more joyous to avoid making a "stubborn" joke about her neighbours.

Keen to try again to spread festive cheer, the 31-year-old has still managed to put on her most extreme Christmas display to date with a brand new theme - a gingerbread bakery. The merry array, which looks good enough to eat, cost her a whopping £500.

However, it's been made clear that not all of Hannah's neighbours enjoy the display - but she doesn't care. The Somerset-native said: "I wanted the display to be even bigger this year. It's not to everyone's taste, but I put a lot of effort in to make it look super festive and fun. I know at least one household who doesn't like it, but that just makes me want to do it more.

"Only three houses on the street can actually see my door as we're at the end of the road, so I feel [that] they are being a little petty. Christmas is meant to be magical and fun."

It took Hannah a solid three days of work before she was able to unveil her masterpiece on Instagram, where she has over 60k followers. In a recent clip, which has racked up over 18,000 viewers and hundreds of likes so far.

The video gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the time-consuming process - from sanding down her green door, to painting it a caramel brown, along with white dots. The wreath maker then adds an adorable white border with red stripes on top. It's all finished off with a gingerbread bauble, as well as a red and green candy themed wreath.

To take things a step further, Hannah added other decorations including a sign post reading: "Gingerbread ST", a gingerbread house doormat and an arch created in the same theme as the wreath.

This is Hannah's biggest creation yet, having previously created a spring flower display, as well as a pumpkin spiced theme. She's previously been accused of wasting money and materials with her extreme decorations, but Hannah says she always "gives back to the community", and her materials are all reusable.

She explained: "The 2022 nutcracker was raffled off to charity and the proceeds went to a Somerset cancer equipment charity. All my odd flowers get donated to children's craft clubs as well.

"I always give back to the community after a big display. I just like to be different with decorating, it works great for advertising what I can do.

"I make the designs up in my head and change the door colour every year. It's faux and high quality – and it's all re-usable. This year, I used four different types of pine and spruce – all faux – and I'll add this to next year's display.

"The sweets can be made into smaller wreaths and the street signpost is from my pumpkin spiced theme display, which I painted over. So I'll most likely repurpose everything again next time – but I'm not sure on the theme yet."
