McDonald's fans say 'Christmas is ruined' after staple is ditched from the menu
Last week McDonald's released its much-anticipated festive menu, which this year launches on November 22.
The fast food chain changes up its menu every six weeks or so, and the festive menu is one of the most eagerly awaited launches of the year. This year's offerings includes some mouth-watering new additions to the range, including the Big & Cheesy burger and Chicken Big Mac.
As usual, there's also a delicious-sounding pie - but it's not one Maccies fans expected. This year the fast food giant is bringing out a Caramel Galaxy pie, and in order to make make way for these delicious new items, the chain has had to cut out the iconic Festive Pie.
The Festive Pie won't be returning for 2023 (McDonalds)Change is sometimes hard to deal with, so understandably, McDonald's fans are gutted that this festive classic isn't returning to the menu. While the Galaxy Caramel Pie is a crispy chocolate pastry filled with Galaxy Caramel Sauce, the Festive Pie is a Christmassy take on the iconic Apple Pie - filled with sweet mincemeat and custard.
The Festive Pie returned to menus in 2021 after being left out for five yers, and it ended up being so popular with customers Maccies brought it back for 2022 - but it seems this year they are switching it up. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the change, with one person writing on X, formerly Twitter: "Not ashamed to admit I have had multiple tantrums over McDonald's not bringing back the festive pie when it and the cheese bites are the best Christmas snacks."
