Man shot dead in gangland attack as forensic teams comb crime scene
A 23-year-old man has died after being shot in what is understood to be a gangland-related attack. The incident occurred shortly shortly before 7pm on Saturday at a home on Barry Drive, in Finglas, north Dublin.
He was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where he was later pronounced dead. Emergency services and gardai are at the scene, with the coroner also notified, according to Gardai.
One theory being investigated is that the shooting was linked to a local drugs feud, relating to young dealers competing for control of the drugs trade. Following the incident, gardaí are set to have more patrols in the area.
