Strictly's Nigel Harman's reaction divides fans after score 'disappointment'

Strictly Come Dancing's Nigel Harman left fans divided on Saturday's Blackpool week.

During the latest episode, Nigel, 50, and pro partner Katya Jones performed a Quickstep to It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) by Duke Ellington. However, despite the dazzling routine, the judges were quick to point out a few mistakes and as the scores came in, the former EastEnders star couldn't hide his reaction to receiving 31 points.

To which host, Claudia Winkleman, asked: "What's that face? You did good! No, you were brilliant, utterly brilliant!" with Nigel appearing to look unimpressed. Claudia, 51, added: "I don't want you to be disappointed! I don't, I can't bear it! Can everyone just cuddle him?" with the Strictly stars running to support Nigel.

Viewers were left divided over Nigel's reaction with some fans rushing to support the star while others were quick to point out Strictly is a competition, where you receive constructive feedback whether that be good or bad. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Nigel takes the criticism really hard, hope it doesn’t knock his confidence & if he stays in the competition he doesn’t have it impact his next dance #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing", another fan wrote: "You’re expected to be critiqued, good or bad…#Strictly" while another added: "Nigel’s face, he’s not happy. #Strictly!"

Elsewhere, one person said: "#Strictly Nigel’s little face is breaking my heart, gutted that he made a mistake", a different account put: "Oh, Nigel’s little face #Strictly" with crying emojis, another viewer said: "I feel so sorry for Nigel, I thought he looked and danced amazingly!", while a different fan wrote: "My heart is breaking for Nigel. You did so good, please don’t be discouraged! #strictly!"

Elsewhere on the show, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola danced a Charleston to Love Machine by Girls Aloud, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin performed a Couple's Choice to Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera while Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe did an American Smooth to Unchained Melody by Benedetta Caretta.

Also, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell performed a Jive to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham!, Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington performed an American Smooth to Tea for Two by Ella Fitzgerald and Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu danced the Argentine Tango to Back To Black by Amy Winehouse.
