As frequent flyers already know, different airlines have differing size restrictions for passengers flying with cabin baggage.
Abandoned UK airport plans relaunch with budget flights to Spain and Cyprus
From the diminutive underseat bags of Ryanair to the almost Tardis-like dimensions of Jet2 and British Airways, the most suitable piece of luggage you can snap up in the sale is the one that meets the requirements of your preferred airline.
Airlines size their bag restrictions to enable the luggage to fit sideways in the overhead compartments. Different airlines have different sized overhead lockers lockers, meaning that the size of the case or bag they can comfortably fit will vary.
British Airways
As the flag carrier for the UK, British Airways likes to market its seats to the discerning traveller who no doubt carries luggage to suit. Whether you are flying long-haul or somewhere closer to home, they are strict about how much you can carry onboard with you.
Each passenger can bring one cabin bag measuring no more than 56 x 40 x 23cm and one personal item measuring no more than 40 x 30 x 15cm, and passengers must be able to lift them into the overhead lockers.

Some cases are specifically designed to meet these smaller guidelines, and some of the best we've found ahead of Black Friday include:

Ryanair
Ryanair is strict regarding hand luggage and if your bags exceed the airline's size restrictions, they will be placed in the airport's cargo hold, and you will be charged an excess baggage fee at check-in.
With this in mind, it is important to have the correct size bag ahead of your flight. The rules may be strict on Ryanair, but they are pretty straightforward.
All ticket holders are entitled to bring on small bag measuring no more than 40cm x 20cm x 25cm, that must fit into the sizer, and must not weigh any more than 10kg.
Priority boarding passengers can also bring a larger cabin bag (55 x 40 x 20cm) with a maximum weight allowance of 10kg into the cabin free of charge.
The Tripp Full Circle II cabin bag is almost 70% off in the Black Friday sale (Tripp)While the dimensions for the free cabin bag allowance are diminutive, they are not impossible to live with. In fact, one Ryanair-size cabin bag was so impressive it actually went viral on TikTok.
