Quavers fans took a huge blow recently after Walkers admitted they had axed a popular flavour with 'no notice - but Aldi fans have some good news.

Just days after it was revealed Walkers had silently axed Quavers Salt and Vinegar, Aldi fans spotted a 'yummy' dupe in stores. Despite only returning to shelves to years ago, the flavour wasn't as popular a Walkers had hoped it would be, and was subsequently axed.

However, those feeling bereft at the moment need not worry, as Aldi's Snackrite Salt and Vinegar Curlers are here to save the day. And at only £1.25 for six small bags on the Aldi website, they are a real bargain.

The brand was spotted by social media user Daz, who took to the Aldi UK shoppers Facebook page to share: "These new? Never seen them online or shops. Doesn't say new on them."

Shoppers were quick to let Daz know that the brand was new, and they also have them in a BBQ flavour. One social media user wrote: "I bought them this week they are lovely." Another simply said: "They are yummy."

A third person asked: "Are they the same as Quavers?" To which another answered: "Yeah." Hinting to the fact that it is a dupe, a fourth said: "Been out a long time, just a different name in Aldi," and added a picture of Walkers Quavers.

Earlier in the week Walkers confirmed the salt and vinegar flavour Quavers will no longer be available, and fans were understandably devastated. Staunch Quavers fan Linda took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to let the company ask: "Have you stopped making salt and vinegar Quavers? I can't find them anywhere." Then Walkers gave some devastating news: "We're sorry to break it to you Linda, but we're not making this flavour anymore." Linda replied, saying: "And with no notice. This is a sad day."

It's been a tough time for crisps fans, with a lot of changes happening. Recently Walkers admitted to changing the taste of its fan favourites to give it 'more punch'. Fans of the Thai Sweet Chilli Sensations weren't happy that their beloved crisp flavour had been altered.
