Harry could 'sever ties' with Netflix over The Crown recreating Diana's death
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a lucrative deal with Netflix after stepping back from the Royal Family, but one expert has suggested their future with the streaming giant is "at risk".
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex started their partnership with Netflix back in 2020. It is unknown exactly how much the deal is worth but it has been reported it could be $112million (£88,000,000).
Meghan and Harry delighted viewers with their docuseries, titled Harry & Meghan. As part of their deal, they also released Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead. However, PR expert Ryan McCormick has said it's "uncertain" if they will release anything else after the release of the final series of The Crown.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's docuseries broke streaming records (Netflix)The series is set to show Princess Diana's final few months before her fatal car crash. Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 while their driver, Henri Paul was fleeing the paparazzi. Henri also died in the crash.

The sixth and final series of The Crown will show the run-up to the tragic deaths, although the crash itself will not be portrayed on screen. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Ryan, Co-Founder of Goldman McCormick Public Relations, said Harry could "publicly sever ties" with Netflix if they don't handle Diana's death in a sensitive manner.
He told us: "Harry appeared on James Corden's The Late Late Show in 2021 and said this of The Crown, 'It's fictional, but it's loosely based on the truth," and then added, "I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family or my wife or myself'.

He may very well publicly sever ties with them out of protest."
However, Ryan said their partnership will be safe if Netflix portrays the pain Harry and his brother Prince William went through following the death of their mother. "If the Princess of Wales' passing is presented in a respectful manner and it shows the tremendous suffering that William and Harry endured, it could keep The Duke's relationship with Netlix strong for years."
PR expert and The Moment Lab founder Matt Yanofsky also believes Harry's ties with Netflix will remain strong, regardless of how they portray Diana's death. He told us: "Being a prince is very expensive when you don't have the royals fronting your expenses, so I'm sure Harry will take all the work he can get"
