Two 12-year-old boys arrested on suspicion of murder after man stabbed to death

Two 12-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in Wolverhampton on Monday, West Midlands Police said.

Both boys were arrested at their homes on Tuesday night in connection with the death of Shawn Seesahai in the city. Both remained in police custody at Wednesday lunchtime.

Mr Seesahai was stabbed to death on land off a street in the East Park area at around 8.30pm on Monday night. A police spokesperson on Wednesday said the force had stepped up patrols in the area understanding "this incident will have caused deep concern in the local community".

DCI Dave Sanders, from the homicide team, said: "Our thoughts remain with Shawn's family, who have been fully updated with this latest development. Our investigation is moving at pace and we continue to encourage anyone with information to contact us.”
