Big Brother star hits out at 'frustrating' edit amid 'horrendous' online abuse

ITV Big Brother star Chanelle has revealed that she has been placed at the centre of a hate campaign after being on the receiving end of "horrendous" abuse.

The reality TV star was evicted from Big Brother last week and was greeted by a hoard of boos and negative comments from the audience who were waiting to express how they felt towards her - and this was in stark difference to the reception Trish received on her exit. Chanelle, 29, claimed that she knew that the public would vote her out of the house after she broke the house rule of not talking about nominations.

In a recent interview she said that she wasn't shocked she was nominated "because I broke the rules, I knew how it looked, I knew how we would have been perceived." And she claimed that she wasn't shocked that she was evicted and so prepared for her exit and a bad reception. But what she hadn't prepared herself for was the abuse that was aimed at her by the public as she stepped back in to real life.

Speaking of life in the outside world, she told OK!: "For me, I'm just a normal girl from Wales that goes to work Monday to Friday, to now having to navigate through the trolling, has been absolutely horrendous. I think what people need to remember is that you do only see a 45-minute clip and unfortunately you probably do just see the clips of me b**ching when in reality I'm not doing that all day. I'm actually having loads of fun, laughing with everyone in the house, but it is what it is in that term."

Chanelle believes that she had been edited poorly to make it look as though she was constantly bad-mouthing other housemates - but she states that everyone was talking about each other. The dental therapist continued: "I was in situations where I shut conversations down, I'll be like 'Guys we need to stop this' and I've encouraged conversations like with Trish but people don't see it.There's this kind, soft side to me that people haven't seen a lot of, they've only just seen me expressing my emotions and my frustrations."

Chanelle had attempted to speak to Trish in a bid to clear the air before her eviction night last week. Tension had been at breaking point between the pair following Chanelle's recent rule break. And so Chanelle pulled Trish to one side and said: "Trish, do you want to come and have a convo?" The pair then headed upstairs and Chanelle continued: "Obviously you’ve been chatting to everyone else in the house and ignoring me, giving me the cold shoulder."

And in response to Chanelle's obvious discomfort, Trish says: "I wouldn’t have called it the cold shoulder. For me, it was like ‘ok I don’t need to make an effort with everybody anymore’ and I also don’t want to feel like I’m connecting with people who do not like me." Trish then added: "The reason why you probably felt the brunt of it the strongest, for me hearing that, was very much it can only be aimed at me."

Chanelle then says: "Please don’t think that me not saying nothing or just going about my day as if I don’t care. Underneath the make-up, I have been breaking my heart over in the diary room and in bed." Chanelle and Trish are among other housemates including Jenkin, Olivia and Noky, who are up for the double eviction in tonight's show. In less than one week, viewers of the ITV2 reboot of Big Brother will find out which housemate is set to walk away with the cash prize of £100,000 and crowned winner of the series.
