Coleen Nolan defends Strictly Come Dancing 'fix' claims as she shares show snub

Coleen Nolan was quick to defend Strictly Come Dancing on Monday's Loose Women after it found itself in a "fix" row over the weekend.

During the episode, the panellists were discussing the latest headlines, which included furious fans accusing the BBC dance show of being a "fix" after the judges saved Angela Rippon on Sunday's dance-off.

Angela, 79, and her professional dance partner, Kai Widdrington, were saved over Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Lauren Oakley by three out of four judges. Fans have since claimed that the judges kept Angela in just for Blackpool week due to her heritage of hosting Come Dancing.

Addressing the claims on Loose Women, Coleen, 58, said: "I don't think it's fixed, my thing of that particular dance-off was that Angela made a mistake. Even I saw the mistake and I'm not good at spotting the mistakes!

"She did make a mistake in her dance off - Shirley [Ballas] wouldn't have saved her, so if Anton [Du Beke] had picked Krishnan, Krishnan would have got through because Shirley wasn't going to save her because of the mistake.

"I just loved watching Krishnan because he has just grown, and for me, that's what Strictly is about. He's gone from not a dancer at all to doing all these amazing dances, he's loved it!" she added: "There's no denying as well that Angela, whatever age she is, she's a brilliant, great dancer, technically. I'm just loving it so I don't want to say it's a fix!", adding she'd hate to be a judge.

Although defending the show, Coleen was quick to reveal a Strictly snub. Pointing out that she has never done the show, her co-hosts were quick to demand she should do it as she would be "amazing". Coleen added: "It's my bucket list, Strictly!" to which co-host, Charlene White, was quick to say: "Don't worry, I shall send an email!" with Coleen hilariously replying: "I've sent thousands, not even a reply!"

It comes as Strictly fans took to Twitter, now X, over the weekend as one person said: "Of course Strictly fixed it for Angela to stay in for Blackpool. Angela used to host Come Dancing for years...they're going to do a Come Dancing history special, then she'll be voted out. She tripped in the dance-off FFS."

Another wrote: "Sorry this is such a fix. How can you say 'Angela, you literally almost fell over. Krishnan you were significantly better but I'm still gonna save Angela?' This is such a fix. Never agreed with Shirley before wtf is going on?" while a different account furiously added: "What a stinking fix!"
