Corinthians wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo has spoken out on interest from Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.

The highly-rated midfielder, 18, has made a major impression in his native Brazil for Corinthians and is already being courted by some of Europe's biggest sides. Unsurprisingly, Premier League clubs are already sniffing around Moscardo, who only made his senior debut back in June.

According to ESPN Brazil, via Metro, Arsenal and Chelsea are both admirers of the Brazil Under-23 international - and he even revealed that the Blues have already made an attempt to try to poach him from Corinthians after lodging an official proposal for his services earlier this year.

The talented teenager said of transfer interest: "There was a proposal from Chelsea months ago, but I talk a lot with my agent and my parents and they try to give me as little information as possible.

"They say there is not long until the end of the season, they tell me to dedicate myself and do well, and that at the end of the season, there will be good things."

Speaking after Corinthians' draw with Athletic Mineiro earlier this week, Moscardo added: "I know very little information. My father knows a few things, he prefers not to tell me so as not to influence my head too much, to end up taking a little bit of my focus here, he says: 'Here your focus is on Corinthians'.

"Of course there’s interest from various clubs, I’ve also heard about it, there was strong interest from Chelsea a few months ago, but if you stop to think about where I’m going now, at this moment, it’s not good.

"I want to help Corinthians now to get them out of this situation. Let’s wait for the season to end, there are still a few games to go, and we’ll see what we can do."

Chelsea have hoovered up a whole host of top young talent since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital acquired the club back in May 2022. The Blues also have form for snapping up Brazilian wonderkids after signing both Deivid Washington and Andrey Santos during Boehly's premiership.

While it remains to be seen if either side will firm up their interest in Moscardo in January, the teenager is seemingly destined for a blockbuster move after his impressive breakthrough campaign.
