Josie Gibson becomes third ITV I'm A Celebrity star to land in Australia
The third contestant for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! has landed in Australia ahead of the 2023 series which kicks off on November 19.
Josie Gibson has arrived aiming to be the next Queen of the jungle. The 38-year-old is the third star to jet in to take part in I'm A Celebrity.
Speaking to The Mirror upon touching down in Australia, Josie joked that she was Down Under for a 'weight loss retreat': "I'm really excited to be here in Australia, I have never been here before. What am I scared of? I'm here for a weight loss retreat so I don't know what you're talking about."
Bristol-born Josie first found fame when she won the 11th series of Big Brother back in 2010. She managed to secure a huge 77.5 percent of the public vote making her one of the most popular contestants ever. Perhaps for this reason she is the bookmakers' current favourite to win this year's I'm A Celebrity.

She is now an established co-presenter on the show and following Phillip Schofield's departure has been steadily getting more and more days fronting the show.

Josie arrived after Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage and social media influencer Nella Rose had confirmed they were heading for camp. They were all whisked away in waiting cars by a security guard and ITV chaperones.
Other names thought to be in the line up include Ex-EastEnder Danielle Harold, 31, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, 51, Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson, 31, and JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38.
The Mirror also revealed how Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn, 32, has signed up for the show and other names thought to be on the list include jockey Frankie Dettori, 52, boxer Tony Bellew, and food critic Grace Dent, 50.
Earlier today, former MEP Farage had said: "I can't confirm I am doing it but I might be. I just think there is a big young audience out there that watches the programme which are worth talking to.
"I have been messing about on Tik Tok for the last few months and you would be surprised, a lot of young people out there are interested in what I have got to say."
Nella, 26, was less chatty and joked she was in Australia for a holiday before leaving the airport.
Last year's show was won by former Lionesses footballer Jill Scott and the new series of I'm A Celebrity starts on ITV on Sunday November 19 at 9pm.
After months of speculation as to who we might see appearing in the jungle, the first big name touched down in Brisbane seven days before the show gets underway. Co-host Ant McPartlin, who as ever will present proceedings alongside Dec Donnelly, has already teased this year's line-up will be "incredible".
After arriving Down Under himself on Saturday (November 11), the excited Geordie told the Mirror: "I can't wait for the show to begin, it's an incredible cast. It'll be nice to be reunited with Dec and it'll be nice to see him."
And joking about his best pal after spending a week apart, he continued: "It will be nice to be reunited with him, he’s had a family holiday. Grinning he added: "It will be nice to see his tan lines. We will run towards each on the beach in open arms."

Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage became the first star to touch down in Australia (Tim Merry/Mirror Express)Hours later, the first of the many celebrity campmates for this year's series made their way through Brisbane Airport. GB News host and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage was photographed making his way through arrvials, before casually claiming he was in the country to 'surf' as he left the arrivals lounge.
He said: "I'm just here surfing for the week," as he was quizzed by journalists while walking through the airport. Mr Farage was pictured wearing a bright blue shirt and a contrasting pink patterned blazer along with a pair of beige trousers and held a black bag as he greeted those waiting for him at arrivals.
However, the former MP did reveal he went tee-total for a week before heading to the jungle but confessed he may have given into a cheeky drink on the plane over. Speaking at the airport, he added: "I can't confirm I am doing it but I might be. I just think there is a big young audience out there that watches the programme which is worth talking to. I have been messing about on TikTok for the last few months and you would be surprised, a lot of young people out there are interested in what I have got to say."
Hours later Nella Rose, 26, who boasts a whopping 800,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel and a further 892,000 on Instagram landed in Australia on Sunday shortly after Farage. Nella beamed from ear-to-ear as she made her way through arrivals at the Aussie airport today, but remained tight-lipped on her jungle stint as she was snapped by the awaiting cameras.
As well as her incredible fanbase on YouTube and Instagram, Nella has also garnered an incredible one-million followers on viral video app TikTok – with bosses hoping her appearance on the ITV show will rake in a much younger audience. Nella chose to keep coy about heading into the jungle as she said: "I am here for a holiday," before getting into a car, where she will likely be taken to her accommodation before calling the gruelling jungle camp home for the next few weeks.
But, she almost left the airport without her luggage as her driver then attempted to pull away with the boot open and her luggage outside but she screamed for him to stop and thankfully he obliged.
Asked if she had been camping before, she said: "I don't know what you mean, what's camping?" And, when told it had been raining, she said: "That's cool I came for the rain."
Nella Rose has touched down in Brisbane Airport – hours after Nigel Farage (James Gourley/REX/Shutterstock)One star who won't be joining the campmates this year is Olivia Attwood – who broke her silence to take herself out of the running of the rumoured line-up. Speculation was rife she was jetting Down Under for a return to the jungle, after she was forced to leave camp last year after just 24 hours due to medical concerns. And rumours heated up even further as she was snapped at Manchester Airport recently.
However, the star has revealed she is not taking part in the gruelling ITV series, fronted by Ant and Dec, and broke her silence on the rumours in an Instagram Story statement. Olivia began: "I wasn't going to talk about anything jungle related because if I'm honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt... and my brain.
"I have been avoiding instagram, But the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting, meeting you in person etc I feel like it's wrong not to speak to you guys!!" [sic]
She added in another post: "I couldn't commit to going back this year. It wasn't the right time for me. There were many things I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn't allow for that much time 'out of the office'...
