Marvin Humes has confessed he is "petrified" of heights and isn't sure how he will cope with some of the I'm A Celebrity challenges.

The singer, 38, has always been keen to take part in the ITV show and is set to land in Brisbane soon, but confessed he might struggle before he even enters the camp if he is faced with the usual sky-high opening task Walk The Plank.

It sees terrified stars walk along a high-rise plank, which has been erected onto a skyscraper in Australia's Surfers Paradise, as the likes of former England Lioness star Jill Scott, 36, and Loose Women anchor Charlene White, 43, had to do in the series last year.

When asked recently who out of him or his wife, This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes, 34, are most likely to enter the jungle, Marvin said: "I've always said that if I was asked to do it that's probably one that I would do, because I like the challenge of some of the things."

Rochelle added: "You'd be great. But you wouldn't be able to do the first bit, baby, where they stand over the buildings."

Marvin admitted his fear of heights has worsened as he has grown older, and the JLS singer even feels queasy when he is two storeys above the ground. He said: "Yeah, I'm petrified of heights. As I've got older, I've got really bad. Really bad.

"I went on the roof of our house the other day and I was having a proper moment. I was only two storeys up. It wasn't even that high." To Rochelle added: "We had some work done at our house and the guy was like, 'Do you want to come up and just check the roof?'

"I didn't think anything of it. I got up, put the high vis on. Marvin was like, 'I'm just going to, um ...' He was having a proper moment. You didn't like it at all did you? He was like, 'I'm just going to go back down and you tell me if it looks OK.' "

Marvin - who has daughters Alaia-Mai, 10, and Valentina, six, and three-year-old son Blake with Rochelle - used to be fearless when it came to roller coasters, but his height phobia now means he can't go on rides.

He said: "It's mad as you get older. I used to go on all the rides at Chessington and that. I could never do that now. But I know I'm going to have to start doing it again, because the kids are going to want me to do it."

While Rochelle believes she would be able to handle the dizzy heights of I'm A Celebrity, she is glad Marvin will potentially face chowing down on a kangaroo's privates Down Under rather than her.

In a joint interview with Marvin on the 'My Love Is...' podcast, Rochelle added: "I'd just be terrible in the jungle. There's a smaller list of what I do like than what I don't. I gag at medicine, if you've got to have a tablet, let alone a kangaroo's anus. That bit [jumping out of a plane] I'd be OK. You'd just have to not tell me, just go."
