Matthew Perry took final holiday with boyhood pals who later carried his coffin

Matthew Perry spent a final holiday with his close friends before his death, it has been revealed.

The star died last month with his body being found in a hot tub at his home. His exact cause of death is unknown, but officials reportedly responded to a call about cardiac arrest before initiating water rescue protocol.

Prior to his death, Matthew was believed to be sober despite his prior history with drug, alcohol and mental health struggles. Friends close to Matthew previously revealed he seemed to be doing well before his death, perhaps the happiest he's been in years.

Sources told The Sun that Matthew recently went on a vacation with close childhood friends, brothers Brian and Christopher Murray. The publication reviewed social media posts showing the three vacationing in the Mediterranean for the summer. They relaxed on lounge chairs while aboard a yacht. Plus, they spent some time in the waves jumping from the boat into the water.

In another photo, Matthew stood with his friends looking joyful by a private plane. The friends even took a private sight-seeing helicopter ride. A friend wrote: "Forgot to post about this bit of summer 2023! Great time on the Med with The Caucus!!"

In the comments, not long before he died, Matthew said: "Nothing like 4 grown men, sailing down the French Riviera together."

Following Matthew's death, both Brian and Christoper flew out to Los Angeles for the funeral. In fact, the pair even acted as pallbearers, carrying the late actor's casket to the grave. Brian also spoke out to give tribute to his deceased friend. He wrote on social media: "Mourning the loss of our dear brother Matty. Funniest man I know, a heart of gold and a treasured friend. Words can't describe how much we miss you pal. Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace Matty. Xo"

Each of the brothers spoke fondly of Matthew in the past. In conversation with the New York Times in 2022, Christopher said: "A lot of it was tough to understand. You wouldn’t wish that on anybody. Fundamentally, his personality and his heart are absolutely in the same place they were when he was a kid."
