Mum changes daughter's name after strangers mock it for being 'dog's name'
A mum and Christian influencer has been savagely mocked for revealing the name of her newborn daughter, with many declaring it was something better suited to a canine than a child. Kaci Driggers, who runs a popular YouTube channel alongside her husband Casey, regularly posts videos about their two kids and married life. She recently gave birth to the couple’s third child, a little girl, and revealed that after a few days, they had decided to rename the little one.
Taking to their TikTok channel and other social media platforms, Kaci shared a video of herself doing her make-up while reflecting on their decision. She told her 1.7 million followers: “I cannot believe that I'm making this video. I had a baby a week ago, and we are changing her name. We never really decided on a name, and then I ended up having her five weeks early, at 35 weeks, so we had even less time to think about her name than we thought we were gonna have.”

Kaci revealed that she and Casey had decided to name their daughter Murphy but had since changed their minds. She went on: “We still absolutely love that name but she literally just doesn't look like a Murphy. I don't know how to explain that, but we just don't really feel like the name suits her that good.”
The mum-of-three continued: “So we're changing it. when we go to doctor's appointments, or when family or whoever has been calling her Murphy. It just didn't feel right.” Kaci then shared that there was one name that their two other children had been calling the baby ever since they got home from the hospital that they had fallen in love with.

She continued: “We're gonna mail in all the documents today and I know that we're gonna get some backlash and some rude, negative comments, but I just come to realise that our baby having a name we love is way more important than what internet thinks.
“You can call us crazy because we probably are, but now that she's been here for a week and I'm not heavily medicated anymore, we've really gotten to spend time with her and see just how sweet she is. We have the perfect new name for her that we think suits her perfectly.”
In a follow-up video, Kaci revealed that she and Casey had decided to call their daughter Honey. She shared: “My sweet baby's name is Honey. Honey Banks. Doesn't she look like a Honey? She does. She's the sweetest noodle honey I ever saw. But I know it's not for everyone, but that's okay, 'cause she's our baby and it fits her.”
Despite saying they were prepared for some negative comments, viewers of the posts were particularly harsh on the parents. One person wrote: “You say she doesn’t look like a Murphy, so she wasn’t a golden retriever?” And another user added: “Does anyone look like a Murphy? Lol” While someone else penned: “Murphy is a boy dog’s name.”
After hearing the baby’s new name people also have views on that too. One person wrote: “I worked with a grown woman named Honey. I felt weird every time I had to call her by name. I never got used to it.” However, lots of viewers loved the new moniker. One viewer wrote: Honey is such a beautiful name I love it.” And someone else gushed: “100x better than Murphy. Love it she’s adorable. Congratulations.”
