Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to have boosted in popularity in the US, which could leave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feeling "isolated", a royal expert has claimed.

Sarah Hewson, royal editor of Talk TV, said the Cambridges were initially "very concerned" about public opinion following a series of accusations the couple made on Oprah and in Harry's book Spare.

But now, Kate and William have soared in American polls, which was further boosted after William recently visited New York for the Earthshot Prize. Earlier this week, some commentators suggested that Harry attempted to "overshadow" his brother's moment by filming a comedy video. Ms Hewson said William now has a "whole army of female fans" and said Kate "looks like a Queen in waiting."

She believes the Sussexes are "struggling" to come to terms with their loss in popularity, reports Fabulous. She said: “When William was in America he was right at the top of the polls, even beating homegrown leaders like Joe Biden and Donald Trump." She further praised Harry for raising his profile as a "global statesman." The expert further explained how Kate is growing in "confidence" and said: “The Americans love her. So I do think there will be a sense of frustration from Harry and Meghan seeing all of this play out. I think they will be feeling isolated and I think they will be angry.”

It comes as the Cambridge's have hired top Hollywood producer, Dame Pippa Harris. She was the executive producer on BBC's Call The Midwife and will be the director of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund Trustee Company. According to Denise Palmer-Davies, of celebrity PR firm Borne Media, the new hiring and increase in popularity is “the ultimate revenge” on the Sussexes. She said hiring someone like Dame Pippa "can only help propel their popularity." She continued: "A full-scale takeover of the States would be the ultimate revenge - after all of the damaging accusations made by the Sussexes, Kate and William are still more popular than them. It’s backfired on them spectacularly and I think that’s going to be tough for them to take. I don’t doubt that Harry and Meghan are now scratching their heads, wondering where it all went wrong.”
