'Entitled sister-in-law ate my wedding leftovers - she's so rude and greedy'
A sister-in-law that snaffled boxes of wedding food leftovers has been blasted by the bride – but the woman who tied the knot is now questioning if she's right to be angry.
Following their ceremony on the Saturday, the newlyweds took the food to her mother-in-law's home until they could pick it up on Monday. But when she returned she found that her sister-in-law had eaten their leftovers without asking and even shared some with her coworkers, meaning they only had three food trays and three boxes of cupcakes left – and the sister-in-law wanted even more.
The woman, posting as Secure_Profile_2864, informed fellow users on Reddit that the couple had eight trays of food, 10 boxes of cupcakes and three trays of cookies left. But the bride has questioned if she is going too far on a thread titled, 'Am I the A**hole,' for being angry with her sister-in-law.
The fuming bride explained: "So my wedding was a Saturday and we had guests in from out of town leaving on Sunday so we had [my] mother-in-law take the leftovers to her house to store until we could make room and freeze any leftover cookies. I easily had eight trays of food, 10 boxes of cupcakes and three trays of cookies left."
Then the shock came as there was very little left from the initial batch and although the new bride was "furious", she decided to talk to her husband, despite having had many conversations about his sister being 'entitled'. She added: "Turns out my sister-in-law went and raided our stuff, taking food and cookies to take home with her. Keep in mind, I allowed people to take stuff from the wedding and expected what we took home was ours. The same day we picked up our stuff we also received a phone call – she wanted more of our cookies and cupcakes to take to work."

She said she would have been happy to share more of the leftovers with her sister-in-law but what had made her angry was the not asking first, and she added: "I’m not a selfish person but I was upset when I wanted to get something it was gone.
"I’ve said to my husband many times while we were dating about his sister's behaviour because this isn’t the only time she has acted entitled, and he just blows it off, maybe because he knows how his family is. Don’t get me wrong I love my in-laws but sometimes they really over step their boundaries."
At the end of the post, she questioned if she was an 'a*****e,' for being so annoyed by the whole situation, and other users were more than happy to defend her, with one person saying: "Not the a*****e. I could see her taking a tray or two of food but she took five trays of food and seven boxes of cookies in one day if that’s correct? You don’t take more than half the food that someone else paid for without asking – that’s just rude.
Someone else added: "Not the a**hole, but you're in for a rough ride if he doesn't have your back over simple things – the big ones are gonna be rough," while another agreed she might be in for trouble in the future: "He’s a weak doormat and his sister is a major a*****e. Be prepared for this to be your life."
And another said she should get her sneaky sister-in-law to pay for what she ate: "Send her a bill for the cost of the food and ask her how she’d like to pay for it, but you want the money back by the end of November 2023. When she says 'what' tell her it’s classified as theft and you had plans for that leftover food. Had she asked you you would’ve happily given her some, but you hate thieves."
