Coleen Rooney has shared rare childhood photos on social media as she gears up for the release of her explosive new book.

The 37-year-old has fans on the edge of their seats as she prepares to release her hotly-anticipated new memoir My Account, and many have suggested the title of the book is a sly dig at her Wagatha Christie dispute with Rebekah Vardy back in 2019. In a promotional video on Instagram, Coleen delighted her followers with a series of snaps from her childhood, including one of her receiving her first Holy Communion.

The mum-of-four also included old photos from family holidays when she was younger, and in another picture of her from her teenage years, she’s dressed in a school uniform. Speaking in the video, Coleen said it was “time to have my say” ahead of the book’s release on Thursday, and enjoyed looking back on her life as she wrote the memoir.

“I feel like now is the right time to have my say, I feel like people have had their views and their say, but now it's my turn. I absolutely loved going back to my childhood memories, I was fortunate and lucky to have a really great upbringing and it was just so nice looking back on that,” she explained. “Overall I've really enjoyed the writing process, I have had ups and downs in my life and it's been difficult at times writing about those, however overall it's made me realise the true values of life.”

In an excerpt from the book obtained by MailOnline, Coleen discussed why she stood by her husband Wayne Rooney throughout each of his cheating scandals, and sadly revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage which “knocked Wayne for six”. She wrote: “Wayne's a great dad. Every time he's gone off the rails, it's been a stupid, drunken, spur-of-the-moment thing.”

“My message is if there's something to work at, if the love's still there, why would you throw that away? Mistakes have happened, but I've always known Wayne's loved me,” Coleen continued. She also revealed the former England footballer suffered from bouts of depression after signing for Premier League club Everton when he was a teenager.

“Still to this day he has it – everyone on him. Not to see what he's doing right but to see what he's doing wrong. It's a shame. Whatever scrutiny I was under, he had it tenfold... he'll drink to blot it all out and escape from the world. What happens of course is the opposite,” she candidly shared.

In the press release announcing her memoir, Coleen confirmed she would be writing about the Wagatha Christie drama, and said it was the “biggest thing that had ever happened to me.” She continued: “Looking back on it now, it still amazes me how inflated it all got, how ridiculous, how serious. That’s why I need to tell what happened in full.”
