Anthony Joshua recalls night he fought six men after going for takeaway
Anthony Joshua has recalled the night that he fought six men on his own whilst trying to order food in a takeaway shop.
Former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua recently sat down with Louis Theroux in an exclusive interview about his boxing career. 'AJ' said of the incident: "I used to get in fights a lot when I was younger. My skin doesn't heal too well. This knuckle, I went to get chicken one evening and I ended up fighting six guys on my own."
Joshua picked up his first knockout win in over two years by stopping Robert Helenius in August. The Brit put on an unconvincing performance against Jermaine Franklin in April, but it was enough to break his two-fight losing skid after consecutive defeats to unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua addressed comments about him being gun-shy in recent fights by telling Theroux: "There's this stigma that 'AJ can't take a punch, AJ's afraid of getting hit'. My goal is to not get knocked out. My goal is to knock out my opponents because I'll never shut my brain down for the love of the sport. No way, because I know the sport won't love you back."

Theroux quizzed Joshua about his bizarre post-fight rant after failing to win back his heavyweight world titles against Usyk in their rematch last August. 'AJ' admitted that he should have conducted himself better after being beaten and put his tantrum down to ego and pride.
"If you knew my story you would understand the passion. I ain't no amateur boxer from five-years-old that was an elite prospect from youth. I was going to jail, I got bail and I started training my arse off, I wanted to be able to fight. I'm stealing this Usyk, I'm sorry, but it's because of the passion we put into this," Joshua explained.
"It was like 'These [belts] don’t even mean anything anyway, yeah what?' I ain't got them and because I ain't got them, they don't mean anything. Right or wrong, I've thrown them because that's what I felt like. I grabbed the mic and addressed the crowd, could I have done it better? Of course I could have."
