Strictly Come Dancing fans were quick to complain moments into Saturday night's show.

The BBC show returned this evening for week seven but fans were quick to point out an "unfair" part of the show. Kicking off Saturday night's show was Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, who performed an energetic Jive to Shake Ur Body by SHY FX & T Power feat Di.

However, the routine divided the judges with Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse scoring a ten while Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood scored eight, giving a total of 36. Taking to social media, fans made their feelings very clear as they vented their frustrations online, arguing that eight was too low for the "amazing" dance.

One wrote: "Nahhh sorry but the judges are so unfair on @LaytonWilliams if that was any other contestant doing that jive it would be 4 10s. Trained or not, he is amazing! #Strictly", a different account put: "THAT JIVE WAS NOT AN 8, IT WAS OBVIOUSLY A 10!!!!!!!! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing #layton", another viewer said: "Giving that dance an 8 feels insane!! Obsessed with Layton and Nikita as always #Strictly" while another added: "Layton’s Jive was not an 8 ffs! #Strictly!"

It comes as Zara McDermott was eliminated last weekend after she and dance partner Graziano Di Prima lost the dreaded dance-off against soap star Adam and his pro partner Luba. Meanwhile, it's been a dramatic few weeks on Strictly after Amanda Abbington quit last month.

The actress, 51, had missed a weekend due to "medical reasons" and just hours later the BBC confirmed she had quit the show all together. The statement said: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future." Amanda, 51, has since broken her silence after it was revealed she had quit Strictly, saying "personal reasons" led her to leave the show with "the deepest regret".
