Schoolboy airlifted from UK school following 'concerns for safety'

A boy has been airlifted out of a school after emergency services were called over concerns for his safety.

Police say they were called to Marlborough Science Academy in St Albans, Herts., on Wednesday morning over worries for his welfare.

An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle, rapid response vehicle as well as the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended the scene. The boy was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "Police were called at 8.40am today (1 November), to report a concern for welfare of a boy at the Marlborough Science Academy on Watling Street, St Albans. Officers along with the ambulance service attended the scene. The boy has been taken to hospital."

East Anglian Air Ambulance confirmed it attended the incident but had no further details at this time. The Mirror has also contacted Marlborough Science Academy for a comment.
