Chloe Madeley fires back as she's mum-shamed after James Haskell split
Chloe Madeley has hit back after being called out for a photo she posted of her and her baby daughter, just a few days after confirming her split from James Haskell.
The 36-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to upload a snap of her holding fourteen-month-old Bodhi, whom she shares with her rugby player ex-husband.
It didn't take long for the photo, which shows the adorable toddler barefoot, to attract negative feedback from nit-picking followers. Chloe shared a screenshot of one message she'd received which asked, "Why isn't she wearing shoes or socks?" The personal trainer was quick to clap back, retorting, "Put her socks in my soup, so her shoes went in the bag," before punctuating the reply a thumbs up emoji. She also added an upside smiley face on screenshot to express her frustration over having to constantly defend her parenting choices.

Chloe welcomed baby Bodhi in August 2022 (Instagram/madeleychloe)This is far from the first time that Chloe, who is the daughter of TV hosting duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, has called out mum-shamers online. Earlier this month, she slammed trolls for judging how she's raising Bodhi and urged others to accept that everyone's parenthood journey is different.
"It amazes me how many women slam other women for sharing their own experiences of motherhood, especially when caveated with sentences like 'I know it's not like this for everyone, but for me...' Chloe wrote on Instagram. "Please understand that everyone's experiences are different, and we should be allowed to share our own without judgement."

Chloe has also previously revealed that she has no interest in joining X, formerly known as Twitter, admitting that she doesn't care about "what anyone has to say on that website."
Chloe and James announced their split last week (Getty Images)As for justifying her decisions as a mother, the fitness expert has never been one to take the criticism lying down. While James has insisted that he ignores the negative messages, Chloe is known to address the hate directly.
"I think we all deal with it differently, sometimes I respond," she said. "I’m not a big believer that you should take the high ground and stay quiet. I think it’s important to set an example to other people who are reading my stuff or watching my stuff, that it’s okay to stick up for yourself and it doesn’t make you a weak person, sometimes it makes you a strong, capable and self-aware person."
Chloe and James, 35, confirmed the end of their five-year-long marriage on Sunday after weeks of speculation about their relationship. The couple said that their decision to separate was 'mutual' and that their main priority was co-parenting their daughter Bodhi, whom they "love" and will "protect at all costs." The couple first got together in 2014, after James approached Chloe to be represent his new fitness supplement brand. They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in December 2018, after the rugby podcast host popped the question during a romantic trip to Paris.
