ITV Big Brother in major shake-up after dramatic Halloween eviction twist
Big Brother’s livestream has been taken off the air in order to prevent the results of a shock eviction twist being revealed too early.
Viewers of the revived ITV reality series were shocked on Monday night when former Miss Universe contestant Noky Simbani inadvertently volunteered herself for a task that had devastating consequences for some of her fellow contestants. The 26-year-old beauty queen was the first to respond to a call for one of the housemates to attend the diary room.
Once seated there, she was told by Big Brother that she had become ‘possessed’ by agreeing to enter the diary room and she was instructed to select a fellow housemate to be added to this ‘possessed’ list. Noky ultimately chose 33-year-old activist Trish Balusa and Big Brother said they had to wait until all the other contestants were asleep and then enter the bathroom, chant the word “Halloween” three times, and then enter a secret passage that would then open.
The two ladies followed the instructions and at 4:30am on Monday morning, they entered a secret room where they were presented with a table of cards featuring photographs all the housemates. The duo were asked to pick three of the housemates - and it was revealed they would then be put up for eviction.

The trio of nominees would then discover their fate and which of them had been voted out of the house the following day - with highlights expected to be aired during Tuesday night’s edition of the show on ITV2.

But fans noted that the result would be revealed in advance due to a live stream being available to watch via ITVX. One Big Brother fan account reported via X: "There will be NO Big Brother Live Stream tonight as one housemate will be EVICTED tonight, which will be shown on tomorrow night's highlights show. The evicted housemate will be interviewed on tomorrow's Late & Live."

Could have all been done during Late & Live then it would be great feeds after. What's the point in a shock eviction if you wait 24 hours to talk to the evictee? - this is two fingers up to the fans."
But another defended the decision, writing: "Yeah that’s fine. As let’s be real if they had gone ahead with the live stream tonight after the backdoor eviction it’d probably all be birdsong anyway."
The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment - while the latest episode of Big Brother is available to watch via ITV2 and ITVX from 9pm.
