Married At First Sight UK's Luke left feeling 'suicidal' after rough break-up

Married At First Sight UK star Luke Worley has opened up about a particularly difficult break-up following his heated brawl with a fellow contestant on the show, explaining that he had been left "suicidal" after "losing everything".

Fans of the show were left gobsmacked on Monday night as Luke stormed into co-star Jordan Gayle's flat, forcing a producer to step in and separate the pair. The confrontation resulted in Luke and wife Jay Howard being kicked off the E4 show.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Channel 4 bosses gave the Essex salesman, 30, his marching orders with "immediate effect after he shocked both cast and crew with his aggressive behaviour". TV bosses felt they had no choice but to eject Luke from the E4 series due to their zero tolerance policy against violence after he allegedly attacked Jordan.

In scenes which aired on last night's Married At First Sight UK, viewers watched with bated breath as Luke went knocking on Jordan's apartment door only to end up pushing him, with the pair finding themselves in a heated brawl which viewers later deemed 'embarrassing'. The argument kicked off after Luke accused Jordan of trying to 'ruin' his marriage with Jay over comments Jordan made at the previous dinner party.

After Luke and Jay were axed from the E4 series over Luke's behaviour, the reality TV star has now spoken out, admitting that he 'lost everything' after and was left feeling at his lowest when his previous relationship broke down. Thankfully, Luke decided to go on MAFS UK for another chance at finding love, and ultimately found Jay, who is he now still in a relationship with months after the pair were given their marching orders.

Appearing on Jordan Brook's podcast, Into The Barbershop, Luke opened up about his mental health struggles after breaking up with his former girlfriend before he found love again with Jay on MAFS UK. The Essex native confessed that he felt as though he didn't want to go on after the break-up happened.

"People don't talk about men's mental health enough you know. People thought I was okay after the break-up, but I wasn't. I was suicidal," Luke revealed. "I've not said this to noone, so this is the first time I'm saying it."

"There was one time I was sat on the end of my bed with tablets in my hand. That relationship was all I knew. It wasn't just her I lost, it was my pet, it was my home, it was her family, it was my life. My life was done. This is why I needed to go on MAFS," he added.

When asked by podcast host Jordan if Luke feels 'good' mentally now after finding love again, the reality TV star confirmed: "Yeah I'm so good. The reason I chose to do MAFS this year is because I was ready. I would have been in the wrong headspace the previous years. It wouldn't have been the real me, so, I wanted to wait until I was in the right place. I obviously married a stranger, and it worked out."

After the explosive episode of Married At First Sight aired last night, which saw Luke and Jay leave, the pair took to Instagram to reveal that they are still going strong months later - much to the delight of fans of the show.

Sharing a collection of pictures from the holiday they took after the show on Instagram, Luke wrote: "What an experience! We may be leaving on controversial circumstances but we leave as a team. I couldn’t have wished to do this journey with anyone else, even if you never did tell me off Jay.

"Jay I just want to say how proud I am of you, as I have seen you grow from strength to strength. Your confidence is amazing and you now believe in yourself, which makes my heart burst. When you walk into a room it lights up and it always will. Now let’s go rob that bank together and get away with it."
