Strictly's Amy Dowden shares upsetting update amid cancer treatment
BBC Strictly's Amy Dowden has shared a heartfelt update on her cancer battle, expressing her disappointment at not being able to attend an event in her hometown.
She said: "Snuggled up rrrrready for tonight's @bbcstrictly results show! Always love Halloween week on strictly (although very different watching from the sofa, but still a brilliant show and so proud of all my fabulous fellow pros). Want to say a massive thank you to all involved in 'turning Caerphilly pink for Amy'."
Amy continued: "From raising money, raising awareness with leaflets and tools galore, dance performances from where it all began for me @shappelles, pink cakes and milkshake sales, you name it. THANK YOU ALL. Can't tell you what it means to me and my family! Just gutted I couldn't be there but forever grateful."

Another added: "Hi Amy. I don't know if you have heard of her, but on the Italian version of Strictly, "Ballando con le Stelle", there is a British-born judge on there who is a choreographer, Carolyn Smith, who is going through the same thing as you."

Earlier this month, Amy made a heartwarming return to a live Strictly show for Movie Week on Saturday, 7 October.
The brave star looked stunning in a floor-length white sequin gown as she was invited onto the hit show to read the terms and conditions. Claudia Winkleman introduced Amy, saying: "To read the terms and conditions is a very special member of our Strictly family; we have missed her so much."
She then asked Amy for an update, saying: "I have to ask, how are you?" Amy then responded: "I am halfway through treatment for chemo, and I can't wait to be back with you all soon."
