Kate and William unfazed by claims country home is haunted by spooky priest
Prince William and his wife Catherine appeared totally unfazed after it was claimed that their country home in Norfolk could be haunted by the ghost of a priest.
Anmer Hall was a wedding present to the couple from the late Queen Elizabeth and moved there in 2015, using it as their main residence until 2017. It continues to be their private country home and the family reportedly spends weekends and school holidays at the home.
A "paranormal historian" has recently shared the story of a ghost said to inhabit the 10-bedroom Georgian mansion and said that William and Catherine were warned about the ghost before moving in - but did not seem worried about it. When told about it, William reportedly said: "No old hall would be complete without a ghost, would it?"
They lived at Anmer Hall from 2015 to 2017 (PA)Speaking on Hello! A Right Royal Podcast, Richard Felix said: "When the Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales moved into Anmer Hall, it's more or less on the Sandringham Estate, there was a ghost there of a Catholic priest that lived there and was hanged, drawn and quartered for high treason, and for some reason, has returned to his home.
"Although he was executed in York, they’ve actually heard his voice. And they have seen the ghost of what they say is a priest, wandering around Anmer Hall." Mr Felix said the ghost was Henry Walpole, a Jesuit priest who was executed in York in 1595 at the age of 36.

William and Kate are now based at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Being so close to Windsor Castle means that they can go and see King Charles any time.
But they still love going to Anmer Hall. Located on the Sandringham Estate, King Edward VII bought the property in 1898 from Ernest Terah Hooley. It had originally been the seat of the Coldham Family from 1705. From 1972 to 1990 the house was leased to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. The house was rented by two other families in between the time before the next tenants moved in.

The van Cutsem family have many strong ties with the royals and are often pictured together. Hugh van Cutsem was a close friend of Prince Charles during their days at university and his four sons (Edward, Hugh, Nicholas and William) have acted as close friends to the likes of Prince William and Prince Harry for many years.
In January 2013, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were allocated Anmer Hall by the Queen as a wedding gift. Large renovations were carried out including a new roof, a conservatory, new kitchen and a substantial tree-planting scheme to offer the Duke and Duchess more privacy.

The family lived in Norfolk full-time between 2015 and 2017 as Prince George was attending nursery nearby at the Westacre Montessori School, before they moved out.
In recent weeks, the Prince and Princess of Wales have been seen out and about, and even travelled to France to attend rugby matches. Kate was pictured smiling and cheering on the England team as they defeated Fiji to claim a place in the semi-finals in the Rugby World Cup two weeks ago, while Prince George and his dad William witnessed the Wales team's defeat by Argentina.
