Joy baby brings to Kate Middleton's brother after previous tragic event
The Princess of Wales' brother has welcomed his first baby who is bringing joy to the family after the death of his beloved dog earlier this year.
James Middleton and his wife Alizee Thevenet said their baby has been named Inigo, Catherine's brother said in an Instagram post. He shared three photos - one of him and Inigo gently holding hands, with a locket of his beloved late pooch Ella, another of the family's four remaining dogs watching over the baby in his pram, and another of James in the countryside with the child in a baby carrier.
In his message, James paid tribute to his late dog saying that the family misses her "greatly". He wrote in the caption: "He has been in our lives for just a few weeks but they have been the most special of my life getting to know our beautiful baby boy. No matter how prepared I thought I was…I was not prepared for the overwhelming emotion of meeting Inigo for the first time and the love for my darling Alizée as we became three.

The dogs have been fantastic at welcoming their little brother into the pack (although Inka needs to know the teddybears are not all for her…)."
Catherine's brother also thanked the medical team at Basingstoke Hospital where the couple had been treated from the first scan until "walking out the front door for the first time as three". When announcing Alizee's pregnancy last year, James revealed it had been a tough start to 2023 after the death of his beloved pet dog Ella. James credits the therapy pet with saving his life after his journey with depression but she sadly died in January this year.

Speaking in April, the businessman said "all the family" came together to grieve as he buried his pooch. He said he was "just about holding it together" as the Cocker Spaniel was the first dog James ever owned. Writing in the Sunday Times, he said: "Burying her; that was the worst. It took me four hours because I knew once I had finished digging, that would be the final farewell."

The couple had a "beautiful" ceremony on Saturday surrounded by friends and relatives in Bormes-les-Mimosas, a village in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, southeast France.
It is believed that Kate, Prince William and their children were at the wedding. But it was a rather small affair, with largely only family present. In another post on Instagram after the ceremony, James said: "No words can describe how happy I am."
