Strictly star's live performance 'hangs in balance' as BBC make contingency plan
Adam Thomas has still not been confirmed to perform on Strictly Come Dancing tonight, with BBC bosses making 11th hour 'contingency arrangements'.
The Waterloo Road actor, 35, was forced to pull out of his scheduled appearance on It Takes Two on Friday night due to illness casting doubt on whether he'd be fit for Saturday's show. Adam was also suffering last week and was banned from rehearsals to avoid a flu outbreak among the cast.
A Strictly spokesperson has told the Mirror 'the health and well-being of the cast' is an 'absolute priority' and plans are being drafted should Adam be too sick to perform in the Halloween special this evening.
Concern was raised when former Emmerdale actor Adam had to withdraw from his It Takes Two interview on Friday leaving partner Luba Mushtuk to go it alone on the show. Luba explained to viewers that Adam was too sick to appear in front of the cameras and needed to rest.
The drama comes days after Amanda Abbington quit the series after initially pulling out of last week's live show for 'medical reasons.'

Giving further insight, Luba responded: "It's so strange to be here by myself."
"[Adam] is resting now. He just didn’t feel very well but he is resting and getting ready for tomorrow night," she added hopefully.
Adam has not posted to social media since he revealed his wife and two children were travelling down from Manchester to see him in action this weekend.
A BBC spokesperson has since told the Mirror: “We are hopeful Adam will be better and able to perform this weekend. There are contingencies in place should he not be able to. The health and well-being of the Strictly cast and crew is production’s absolute priority.”
This week the Strictly pairings will take part in a spooky Halloween extravaganza, which is often billed as one of the biggest nights on the BBC dance competition. The group will be one couple down this week with Amanda Abbington deciding to leave the show earlier this week citing 'personal reasons.'
Luba gave fans an update on Adam's healthSherlock actor Amanda was forced to pull out of the show last week over a 'medical issue' before deciding to pull out completely. While fellow small screen star Adam has also battled illness throughout the competition and was even banned from taking part in rehearsals so as not to infect his fellow contestants.
Despite the setback, the actor scored 32 points on Saturday night's show, earning a nine for the first time for his Couple's Choice to Backstreet Boys Medley with pro partner Luba.
Following the show a relieved Adam was delighted with his score after a difficult week. He took to Instagram to write: 'Wow what another memorable night spent with this one!!! With a few set backs this week leading up to the show, I’ve got to say am proud of the performance we delivered!
"We went out there last night, and gave it everything we had! Feel like week on week I’m improving and getting more comfortable and confident, with each show! and that’s crazy because I feel like am getting less time to train.
"I know am not the best dancer, but I’m a chancer and I’m going to give 110% every chance that I get! Thanks again To my beautiful partner in crime, whom I’d be lost with out!! I love having you by my side."
