Liverpool are eyeing their third win in eight days when they host Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Reds have kept pace with those at the top of the Premier League and are well fancied to claim three points of more this weekend despite their short turnaround following Thursday night's Europa League win at Anfield - which saw Mo Salah break more records.

Jurgen Klopp could find himself reunited with former player Divock Origi this weekend. The Belgian, who scored in the Champions League final, had great affection from his manager but will be looking to aid Forest's efforts as they eye an upset this weekend. Here's the latest from the red half of Merseyside.

Reds on Osimhen alert

Liverpool and Chelsea are both on red alert regarding Victor Osimhen's future amid issues with his contract. Negotiations between the player and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis are reportedly 'difficult'.

Osimhen's current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and he has attracted plenty of interest having fired Napoli to their first Serie A title since the days of Diego Maradona.

Liverpool recently sent scouts to watch Osimhen during the international break with Mirror Football understanding that Chelsea are also interested as their goalscoring problems continue. Now, according to a report from Calcio Mercato, negotiations over a new deal at Napoli have stalled which could open the door further for potential suitors.

Carra takes aim at "regressive" Man Utd

Jamie Carragher has hammered Manchester United by branding their style of play under Erik ten Hag as "stale" and claiming they are in an "unfulfilling holding pattern".

United were hoping to build on a positive first season under Ten Hag, which saw them reach both domestic cup finals, winning one, and also making the top four, but so far they have struggled to find any consistency this season.

They currently sit eighth in the Premier League with five wins and four defeats whilst they are third in their Champions League group following losses to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray as they face the prospect of a group stage exit. Carragher has been particularly critical of their manager, highlighting the fact that not many of his signings have performed and that "symptoms of regression are visible".

Hendo's crowd problems

Jordan Henderson hasn't enjoyed the best of times since completing his lucrative move to Al-Ettifaq in the summer, which in itself copped huge criticism and resulted in him being booed by England fans.

Henderson's woes have since been compounded by the tiny attendances his new club have attracted in recent weeks. Just 696 fans turned up to watch Al-Ettifaq's 1-0 defeat against Al-Riyadh at the weekend - fewer than the majority of crowds National League clubs would get.

That said, his problem is not universal with Henderson's former Liverpool teammate, Fabinho, enduring contrasting fashions. The Brazilian followed Henderson by swapping Anfield for the Middle East as he linked up with Al-Ittihad, who have the highest average attendance figure (29,044) in the division, per a report from The Times.

However, even that figure is down on last year. The highest attendance for a single match so far this term is held by Al-Hilal, the most decorated team in Saudi Arabia, who had a crowd of 59,600 for their match against Al-Fayha back in August. That match also marked the unveiling of Neymar as an Al-Hilal player.
