Anthony Hutton won the viewers' hearts back in 2005 when he was crowned champion of the sixth series of Big Brother, rising straight to fandom. The trainee barber was only 23 when he claimed the top prize of £50,000.

One of his famous scenes during his reality stint is arguably when he got hot and steamy in the hot tub with former housemate Makosi Musambasi. Now, the 41-year-old has a quite the different life than expected.

In 2016, he launched his own business - Mr Hutton's Barbers and Bar - where he tutored trainee barbers with an added twist, customers could also get themselves a cocktail whilst having their hair cut. Three years later, Anthony married his long-term girlfriend, Sophie Crosby, in 2019 and welcomed their first son, Cruz, two years later. The family live together in Darlington and frequently share photos of their life on social media.

"This little man has brought so much love and joy to our life," the reality star gushed alongside just one cute snap. Reflecting on his life since, speaking to Chronicle Live, he said: "When I first came off the show, my life completely changed, it was just turned upside down. I went into the Big Brother house a lad from County Durham who lived at home and came out with people in the street knowing my name.

"The day I got off the show I was being contacted by agents and a couple of days later I was paid £200,000 to do a photo shoot with OK magazine. From day one it was just crazy." He continued: "I was 23 at the time, so I did go a bit crazy. I bought a Range Rover and I took my friends to Las Vegas a few times. That being said, I also invested in a couple of properties and I bought my mum a house, so I wasn’t completely wild."

Anthony also revealed that he had initially splashed a lot of his reality TV money winnings on cars and trips to Las Vegas, which left him in a 'dark place.' He said: "I may have won my series, but for each new season my fame dwindled.

"Even though I was making less money, that didn’t stop me spending as if I was at the peak of my fortune. I knew I needed to get a job to make ends meet but I thought people would laugh at me if I did something more ‘normal’. As a result, I got into a really dark place where I was going out all of the time and drinking a lot. I was lucky to have a good support system which made me realise that getting another job wasn’t something to be ashamed of."

The barber owner announced to fans that he was closing his business in the summer, as he wasn't renewing the lease for the shop and also wanted to spend Saturday nights with his family. But he also confirmed that a new location was underway where the Mr Hutton brand would live on.
