Drivers have been left confused having finally figured out what the mystery button on their car actually means. Writing the query on Reddit, one motorist questioned what the peculiar button actually did.

Another confused social media users shared that he had a button called CAT/FOLDER. However, one clever driver explained that it actually meant Category/Folder, which is a function that allows for the selection of different music categories.

Category is for xm radio, and folder is for connected device and USB. It is part of the entertainment system, in MP3 mode. Other TikTok and social media users were confused by the meaning, with one person showing his motor's dashboard alongside the words CAT/FOLD.

People did not hold back in revealing their opinions in the comments section of the original post. One said: "For the orderly storage of all your cats, of course. I hate when mine are all crumpled after a long car journey!"

"I told my kids the CAT button releases a cat from the dashboard," another commented. "Weird. My cat's pretty good at folding himself," a third joked. It comes as another TikToker explained a disguised feature on certain cars that means they are perfect for summertime.

Previously, it was reported that drivers did not understand the function of a blind spot button. Motorists also encountered a mode that helped save hundreds of pounds on fuel, but it has serious downsides.

In addition, another hidden button can unlock your boot from the front seat. You simply open the glovebox and locate a row of three buttons on the upper right-hand side. These have the same symbols as on the key fob. Buttons on both the left and right ensure you can lock your boot from the driver's seat.
