Francis Ngannou hit a sparring partner so hard that he broke his leg during a training session, according to boxing legend Mike Tyson.

'Iron Mike' has been coaching Ngannou for his ring debut which takes place on Saturday night against Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The hard-hitting Cameroonian is known for his knockout power and Tyson was left in awe of the former UFC heavyweight champion when he stopped one of his sparring partners in brutal fashion.

“I am just looking forward for this fight to start," he said. "When this first came to me I said there is no way this is gonna happen and then I watched him spar. I thought it was ridiculous too until I saw him spar, he hit a guy on the chin and he broke his ankle or leg. Listen man, if he can do that it is possible he can be heavyweight champion of the world. The power is definitely real.”

Fury's dad John warned Tyson that Ngannou will be easily beaten and vowed to fight the heavyweight legend if he's wrong. "Let me tell you my brother, the world is gonna see what is going to happen to your man. He will get his head boxed off and stopped at will my pal, don't worry about that. If I'm wrong, me and you will fight straight after. Me and the great Mike.

Fury mocked Ngannou at their open workouts earlier this week for refusing to take his t-shirt off whilst hitting pads. Despite Ngannou always being in excellent shape, Fury said of his counterpart: "Francis Ngannou is a big fat sausage. How about that? Have we ever seen the man take his top off? No. He's a big fat sausage, that's why he won't take his top off, he's embarrassed of his body.

"Honestly, believe that! If it was up to Francis he would fight me with his t-shirt on, fact. I don't [think he's in tremendous shape], I think he's a big fat sausage." Fury was forced to eat his words at their press conference as Ngannou turned up wearing a suit jacket with no t-shirt on, later revealing his lean physique for their face-off.

Fury quickly changed his tone by complimenting Ngannou for being in shape before the heavyweight duo had a friendly staredown. "Take it off Francis, get it off! Whoa, he's in shape! The man is in shape," Fury said. John then bizarrely tried to get involved in the face-off by taking his own t-shirt off and staring off with Ngannou.
