MAFS fans accuse Erica of 'gaslighting' Jordan during heated row

When they first arrived on the show as an "intruder couple" it was clear to see that there was a connection between Married At First Sight UK's Erica Roberts and Jordan Gayle.

So much so, she decided to announce that she was in one of the strongest couples, which kick-started an on-going feud with fellow participant Tasha Jay. But in last night's show, during the Love/Hate challenge where the couples had to reveal things they liked and disliked about each other, it was clear that the cracks were beginning to show between the pair. During the task Erica and Jordan ended up in a heated argument after he was desperately trying to defend himself against her claims of him being boring and lacking communication skills.

This has clearly been a bone of contention for them but, when it was Jordan's turn to mention his dislikes, it was clear that the cracks were a lot deeper than first thought. He claimed that Erica was always quick to point out his flaws and he couldn't remember the last time she had said anything nice to him. But instead of taking on board what he was saying, she turned on him and said: "But do I make you feel like that or is that how you feel deep down?"

And it was at this point that fans fumed and accused Erica of 'gaslighting' Jordan. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: "Anyone else think Erica gaslighting Jordan? Deffo mean girl vibes called it on SPA day." Another viewer said: "Nah the faces Erica pulls P*** ME OFF #MAFSUK." And a third person commented: "Erica Rolling her eyes again." A fourth person, who was equally infuriated by Erica penned: " Erica - absolutely stone deaf to her shortcomings."

Speaking to the camera, Erica said she felt that their heated conversation had been going "round in circles." At their wedding day, things did not get off to the best start as Erica was seen telling her pals she felt she had taken a sleeping tablet while Jordan read out his vows. But while on honeymoon, the pair seemed to really hit it off, which perhaps led Erica to believe that they were the strongest couple on the show.

Erica made her feelings known as the group enjoyed time out away from their apartment building as they headed to a spa. Erica revealed to Tasha and the group her thoughts on all of the couples – and her opinion did not go down well at all. This sparked a huge argument between the two as Erica confronted Tasha over why she appeared to have a problem with her. Things became so heated Tasha, who at one point stood over a tearful Erica, had to be taken outside by Ella to calm down.

But Tasha wasn't pleased with the edit and made her feelings known on social media: She wrote: "So much of what you're seeing did not happen in the moment. The comments that were said, of course, that was me, in the moment, and you'll see the rest of the journey." In a bid to point the inconsistency of the episode, she added:"But f**k me, this is an edit. Look at it! One minute Jay's got her coat on and then she hasn't. It's all happening at one moment? No."
