Strictly's Giovanni Pernice 'worried for career' after Amanda partnership ended
Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovani Pernice is reportedly "worried for his future career" after his partner Amanda Abbington pulled out of the show earlier this week.
The 49-year old actress cited "personal reasons" behind her premature exit, ending Italian professional dancer Giovanni's hopes of lifting the famous Glitterball Trophy for a second time in three years. In a statement, the Sherlock star thanked the production team and "everyone on Strictly", but fell short of naming her 33-year old partner directly.
Giovanni admitted his sadness over her departure, as he wrote on Instagram: "I am so sad we can't continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love." Rumours of a fallout had been rife though with Amanda reportedly unhappy with Giovanni's "militant and aggressive" behaviour in rehearsals.
"Giovanni is a very hard taskmaster and takes the competition very, very seriously," a source later said, describing the training techniques as "incredibly brusque" which could sometimes "upset his partners". The two stars appeared to brush off those rumours, however, as they appeared together on It Takes Two.
"It honestly looks like you two are having the best time, getting along like a house on fire in rehearsals right?," Janette Manrara asked the pair. Amanda replied: "Yeah we are, we are! We do and we laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important. So we'll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don't we."

Now, according to sources, Giovanni has been venting his frustration to his friends, and worries the "drama" will have a negative impact on his career. A source told the Daily Star: "This has really annoyed him. He’s barely heard from her for 10 days. She hasn’t been replying to messages or telling him what’s happening. He’s been complaining about it to friends. He’s frustrated."

It comes after Amanda announced her exit earlier this week in a statement, after pulling out of Saturday's live show due to 'medical reasons'.
Addressing her exit in full on her own Instagram account, Amanda wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
"I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring. It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them. I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. xxx."
Her fiancé, Jonathan Goodwin, meanwhile, also shared a message after it was revealed his partner had left the competition. The retired stuntman posted a mirror selfie with the caption: "We can be so hard on ourselves...be our own worst critics... But before you judge yourself... make sure your mirror is clean."
