Amanda Abbington might still receive her hefty payday from Strictly Come Dancing despite quitting the BBC show for "personal reasons".

Every celebrity taking part in the programme is thought to be paid a whooping £25,000 for simply stepping onto the dancefloor on day one. The fee is reportedly the same for each star, regardless of their level of fame and fortune. Even if they are voted out in the first week, each famous face will still bag the £25,000, which is why Amanda is thought to still be set for her pay packet. Those who make it past Strictly's week four will reportedly make another £40,000.

Celebrities who remain in the competition until Blackpool and the quarter final receive an additional £60,000 each, with the semi-finalists bringing home another £75,000 each. Furthermore, the lucky star who goes on to win the show bags an incredible £100,000. It's not just the famous faces raking it in, the Strictly stars' professional dancers all take home a hefty amount of cash. Every professional is thought to be paid a flat fee for taking part in the entire show, start to finish – rehearsing 14 hours a day.

The professional salary is reportedly between £35,000 and £50,000, and while that does sound like a lot, it's less than the celebs and they have to put in a lot more work, including choreographing the routines and leading the training sessions. Strictly Come Dancing ends in December when bosses begin to promote the show's tour, professionals taking part in the series of events can bring in a further flat fee of £35,000 as a salary for the tour, away from the TV show.

It comes as Amanda Abbington brutally snubbed her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice as she said her goodbyes to Strictly following her sudden exit. The mum-of-two explained her decision "didn't come easily" and that she was departing the popular dancing programme for "personal reasons".

She released a full statement on Tuesday. Amanda said she had 'deep regret' and went on to thank her co-stars, without mentioning her mentor Giovanni once. The star took time to thank the contestants and the production team but shared no message for her dance partner.

The Mr Selfridge star said: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons, I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside. I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring. It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I'll miss all of them.

"I'm so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you."

The move comes amid rumours the pair have had a fallout behind the scenes. In the first week of the show it was even reported that Amanda would not perform after being unimpressed with Giovanni's 'aggressive' training style.
