Zara McDermott's boyfriend, Sam Thompson, has revealed that the Strictly Come Dancing star has been left majorly deflated after she found herself in the bottom two after her performance last weekend.

Last weekend, comedian Eddie Kadi was given the boot this weekend after finding himself up against the former Love Islander in a battle for the judges votes. Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke unanimously voted to save Zara, and although she has been given another chance to perform next week, the 26-year-old star has been left feeling deflated.

After Zara found herself and her professional dancer partner Graziano Di Prima in the bottom two, former Made In Chelsea star Sam, 31, has spoken about how the shock result has impacted her over the past couple of days. Speaking on his Hits Radio show, Sam said: "Zara was in the dance off again. It's happening all too often and it's very hard to take as a boyfriend because she comes back all deflated and she's worked so hard.

"I've got to be honest with you though, I could have done a bit more. I was a bit distracted by the rugby, by the World Cup, and I didn't go as big with my usual efforts on Instagram but I'm going to come back stronger this week though. We're not going to go down without a fight baby," Sam vowed.

Following the dance-off, Zara took to Instagram to post about her feelings regarding the low placement. The reality TV star admitted that she was disappointed that her nerves had gotten the better of her, but she wanted to use the experience as motivation to do better.

"Being in the dance-off for the second time was definitely not the easiest moment of our Strictly journey so far," she wrote. "I think I let those nerves get the better of me during our performance, and I knew I could have done better... I've made a promise to myself and Graz that this week I am going to work on controlling those nerves, and not letting them get in the way of me doing my BEST," Zara added.

Upon Zara being saved by the judges, some viewers aired their strong disagreement saying Eddie should have been given another chance as they pointed out that he performed better. Many fans of the show took to Twitter to say they thought Zara's "feet hardly touched the ground give her an unfair advantage as she spent much of the routine in Graziano's arms.

One wrote: "Zara spent quite a bit of time being swung around in the air, whereas Eddie had his feet on the floor actually dancing, so I think Eddie should have been saved."

While another said: "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL?! Eddie and Karen’s dance was WAY better in the dance-off. Zara hardly danced, Graziano flung her around. Her feet were hardly on the dance floor! Utter rubbish! #StrictlyComeDancing" A third complained: "Zara's feet hardly touched the ground in that routine."

And it has been predicted by viewers that Zara and her professional partner Graziano Di Prima could be the next to go next week. One fan wrote: "So we know Zara is prob gone next week, after that I can't call it."

"Not a surprise. That’s who l guessed would go. Can also predict next weeks elimination as well," another commented, with a third adding: "I think zara next week."
