Emmerdale bosses have confirmed Caleb Miligan is hiding another big secret and this one could affect his relationship with his brother Cain Dingle beyond repair

Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw has confirmed Caleb Miligan has another huge secret he's been hiding.

Back in December last year, Cain was left stunned by the arrival of mysterious Caleb. He had been writing to the prison and trying to get hold of Cain, knowing that they were long lost brothers and hoping to reconnect with him. However, Cain was not keen, ignoring all his messages until he could no longer and Caleb's arrival soon caused a lot of sparks.

Eventually, Cain let Caleb into his life and the pair struck up a good bond, all before it was revealed that Caleb had been using Cain and the Dingles to try and help him worm his way into the village and secure Home Farm, which he felt entitled to.

Caleb's secret could threaten his relationship with Cain

A string of revelations later and soon everyone knew that Caleb was the son of Frank Tate and his son Nicky had been posing as a nanny and Gabby's boyfriend in the hope of securing an inside track at Home Farm.

Now soap boss Laura Shaw has teased that Caleb has been hiding another big secret that could threaten the very fabric of his bond with brother Cain. Speaking to Inside Soap about the upcoming scenes and the big revelation of his other secret, she said: "Caleb has a secret that, when everyone sees it, they will know that this is really going to threaten his relationship with Cain. If anything is going to test them as brothers, it's if Cain finds out everything at the end of this month."

The secret could be built around the new storyline, which see the Dingles face strong questioning from Lydia when her rapist Craig is found dead in mysterious circumstances, but what happened to him, and was he murdered?

When he arrived in the Dales, Caleb actor Will Ash teased there are a lot of layers to his character. "He comes in having this quite dark backstory having been put into care as a child. So when he was like 15, 14, he finds Cain and tries to reconnect with his family and he’s told by Cain that his mum is dead, so to steer clear of the family basically," he said.

"So he spends the rest of his time growing up in care so he comes into it, when he finds out Faith wasn't dead, with a lot of bitterness, and a lot of anger so that complexity and having an axe to grind with Cain."
