The Dyson Airwrap is one of those products that, even six years on, is still topping Christmas wish lists. But with prices between £449.99 and £499.99, it doesn’t come cheap by any means.

It’s been regularly sold out since its launch and beauty fans may be hoping to get their hands on it for cheaper this Black Friday. We’ve kept our eye on the Dyson Black Friday deals for a number of years, and the multi-styler hair tool is rarely reduced, with retailers instead opting to offer other perks to tempt customers to buy the coveted device.

Last year, Boots offered shoppers £20 worth of Advantage Card points with every Dyson Airwrap purchase, while Currys enticed with free next day delivery and Dyson included a free travel pouch worth £40. However, there is a way that you can get £80 off the Dyson Airwrap before the Black Friday sales start - and it’s 100% legitimate.

The Dyson Airwrap launched in 2018, transforming the world of hair tools and very quickly becoming a viral sensation. It uses the Coanda effect rather than excessive heat, playing with air pressure to style hair in a much healthier way, providing incredible results, which is why we named it our Mirror Choice top hair styler.

Those who want to achieve a bouncy blowdry need not pay full price though, as shoppers can actually get refurbished Airwraps for under £400 through the Dyson website and eBay.

Some may be sceptical about purchasing a refurbished Airwrap , but rest assured that products sold on the eBay Certified Refurb hub go through a careful vetting process to ensure that they are top quality. Some products may only be a few months old, never used, or sold originally with a fault that has been repaired. Shoppers can also sell a product back to eBay to be refurbished.

The Dyson Airwrap is £399.99 and available in pristine, like-new condition, having been professionally inspected, refurbished and packaged by Dyson. All certified refurbished items on eBay also come with a 12-month warranty so you can shop with confidence.

According to eBay: “Products sold on the eBay Certified Refurb hub go through a careful vetting process to ensure that they are top quality, so the Dyson Airwrap is available in pristine, like-new condition, having been professionally inspected, refurbished and packaged by Dyson. All certified refurbished items on eBay also come with a 12-month warranty so you can shop with confidence.”

Meanwhile, Dyson said of their refurbished models: “Dyson Renewed machines have been expertly serviced and hygienically cleaned. We test every machine to ensure it performs to our uncompromising standards. Any imperfections are purely cosmetic and can range from micro scratches and light scuffs to more visible marks, or discolouration to paint finishes and surfaces.”

I previously reviewed the Dyson Airwrap and rated it better than the cheaper Shark FlexStyle alternative, praising it for it’s easy of use, speed and results, commenting: “Aesthetically, it’s a very pretty device and really looks the part. It’s lightweight, and has a seamless and well thought out design that makes switching from hot to cool a breeze, if you’ll pardon the pun.

“It creates beautiful salon-worthy curls in minutes, leaving my hair looking smooth and bouncy. Had I left the salon with my hair looking as it did on the right, I’d have been very pleased.

“What’s more is that there’s no need to faff around swapping barrels for different curl directions, like you do with the Shark. There’s a little toggle on the top of the barrel that will change the direction of the airflow, so you only need to use one.

“Of course, Shark’s FlexStyle does have the benefit of a much lower price and offers similar results. However, I found that my hair still looked quite frizzy and the curls dropped quickly. I’m sure with the help of styling products a smoother look that holds better could be achieved, but I can’t help but feel that when you spend hundreds of pounds on a device, it should do all that heavy lifting for you.”

And while I can’t speak on the performance of a refurbished model, the feedback on the Dyson Outlet eBay page is overwhelmingly positive, with 97 per cent being more than satisfied with their products. One said: “Great product and in pretty much perfect condition for a refurbished item. Works perfectly very happy,” while another shopper added: “Really good price compared to the brand new product but you would never know it is refurbished. Quick delivery too. Still learning the best techniques to use it but watching lots of tutorials on YouTube and after two uses, my hair feels softer and healthier. Would highly recommend.”

However, it’s recommended to order early as some shoppers experienced delays in their order arriving, with one adding: “Great item. Didn’t arrive on time for intended purpose which was a let down.”

Other hair tools that shoppers have been loving recently include the Remington Shine Therapy straighteners , which some say they’ve been ‘abandoning ghds’ for. More than 1,000 Mirror readers purchased the budget beauty tool during the week of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, and we expect them to be just as popular for Black Friday.

Meanwhile, Mirror writer Lucy Addicott tried out a Babyliss Ceramic Curling Wand and said: “The curling wand is lightweight, which means no tired arms when curling and it makes it easy to transport and travel with. It also boasts grips along the wand itself that stop your hair from sliding down, which is ideal if you are styling freshly washed locks.”

But if it’s the do-all Dyson Airwrap you want to get your mitts on, you can shop the refurbished devices on eBay and Dyson for £399.99, or buy it full price new here.
