Giovanni Pernice 'no plans' to leave Strictly amid feud rumours and solo plans
Giovanni Pernice reportedly has no desire to walk away from Strictly Come Dancing despite another disappointing series for the 2021 champion.
The Italian dancer, who lifted the Glitterball trophy with Rose Ayling-Ellis two years ago, was dealt a major blow on Monday night when his celebrity dance partner Amanda Abbington withdrew from the BBC competition. Giovanni will continue to appear on Strictly for the rest of the season but is obviously out of the running to win the prize for a second time.
Monday got even more miserable for the popular dancer, with the Cardiff date on his solo tour scrapped thanks to the venue he planned to appear at announced its sudden closure. Tuesday should have been a more positive day for Giovanni, thanks to his "dream venture" set to launch.

An insider claims Giovanni is focussed on supporting the rest of the Strictly family throughout the rest of this year's series and has no plans to dance away from the BBC show just yet.
"Giovanni is really disappointed that Amanda's time on Strictly has come to a premature end. He wanted nothing more than to continue competing with her by his side," a source claims, adding "for Giovanni now" he will still be appearing on the show every Saturday.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likeness
"It was set to be such a big week for him with the launch of his new business GP Vita but after Amanda's announcement, it didn't feel right for him to go forward with the scheduled plan," the insider continues, going on to point out how some Strictly fans are already "doubting Giovanni's place on the show next year".
However, the insider tells the MailOnline conversations regarding Giovanni's long-term future on Strictly "won't take place for months" and he currently doesn't have any plans to step down from the dancing competition "just yet".
Amanda issued a statement on Tuesday morning following Strictly: It Takes Two announcing her exit from the BBC competition on Monday night. The Sherlock didn't mention Giovanni by name as she explained to fans on Instagram why she had to withdraw from this year's series.
Captioning a snap of a pair of dancing shoes, the mum-of-two wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
"I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring. It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them. I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. xxx."
Giovanni addressed his partner's exit on Monday night, sharing a backstage snap of himself and Amanda taken during Movie Week on Instagram. He captioned the image: "Amanda ..I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love." Amanda is yet to like or comment on Giovanni's sweet post.
