Francis Ngannou tells rival Tyson Fury he doesn't believe anything he says
Francis Ngannou has told Tyson Fury his mind games won't work, and insisted he doesn't believe a word his rival says.
The two heavyweight champions; Ngannou from MMA and Fury from boxing, will square off on Saturday night in an unprecedented Saudi Arabian crossover fight. The Cameroonian is the lineal top heavyweight in MMA, while Fury has never lost any of his professional boxing fights to date including multiple world title bouts.
And while Fury's WBC title won't be on the line this Saturday, his lineal crown will be if Ngannou can become the first man to hand him a loss in the professional ring. With an undisputed clash against Oleksandr Usyk down the line, he has begun to work his infamous mind games, although his rival insists there is nothing he can do.
"I'll ask Francis a question, do you think I'm going to run away from you like using the jab and dancing?" Fury asked during their TNT Sport Face Off with Carl Frampton. "You've said it's a 24-foot ring so you must think I'm going to [move around]." When Ngannou replied that it was "possible", he hit back by saying he would be "straight out, me and you in the middle."
"I don't know about that," Ngannou replied. "We're going to find out on that day, I don't believe anything that you do now. I know you're a big character, not that I don't respect you." Fury noted that he predicted how he would fight against Deontay Wilder, whom he knocked out twice by coming forward despite the American being one of the hardest punchers in history.

"I told Deontay Wilder that I was going to knock him out," Fury added. "Didn't I? The second fight I said 'I'm not going to box, I'm going straight at him. You [Frampton] didn't believe me, nobody did. I told him I'm going to knock him out on the front foot, I'm going to push him back and knock him out and I did."
Ngannou replied by adding: "That's you guys both business, as far as I'm concerned I'll stick to my own plan which is working out." Fury then joked that "we'll have a fight, don't worry about that," and added "That's what we're paid to do isn't it? Have a fight!"
