Having missed the win over Sheffield United with a foot injury and being suspended for this week’s Champions League clash, reports are speculating over his long-term future.

The Portuguese defender had previously been earmarked as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire for this year, but the former United captain remained at Old Trafford after his transfer to West Ham broke down despite the club’s agreeing a £30million deal.
A report in Portuguese outlet A Bola has detailed how Liverpool scouted the Portugal international during last week’s international clash at Bosnia, where they won 5-0. The 22-year-old now appears to be at the heart of a transfer battle between the two clubs.
City pledge bans for fans’ sick Charlton chants

Small groups of City fans were heard singing offensive chants about Charlton during their clash against Brighton on Saturday, prompting complaints from fellow Blues. A video circulating on social media showed one such chant being sung on an Etihad Stadium concourse.
