LeBron James Jr, also known as Bronny, walked out as a USC Trojan for the first time on Friday night to a packed crowd where he was given a huge ovation - and a remarkable potential debut looming.

Bronny announced his intentions to join USC earlier this year, where he was expected to be a key player for the team from the outset after his impressive performance at the McDonald's All-America game.

But LeBron and the James family were given a huge scare when Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest back in July. The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital before being placed in an intensive care unit as testing began to determine the problem. Bronny was later discharged in a stable condition, with LeBron feeling 'optimistic' about his well being.

The James family kept Bronny's health private for a number of weeks, before LeBron gave another positive update earlier this month, and now the teenager has walked out with his teammates and a return to action this season is his next target.

In his latest update, James Sr said: "Bronny is doing extremely well. He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates at USC. He had successful surgery and he's on the up and up.

"It was a whirlwind for our family this summer. But the best thing we have is each other and we stuck behind each other - gave Bronny strength throughout the process and we're looking forward to seeing what his future has in stall for him."

On Friday, James Jr walked out, but did not practice with his teammates as he continues his recovery, but he walked out and did the 'Dougie' dance, with his teammates cheering him on as well as the thousands in attendance.

Like his father, James Jr will wear the number 6 jersey when he takes to the floor with USC, where he is projected to stay for just one year before turning his attentions to the NBA.

Prior to his medical scare, James Jr was seen as a first-round pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, viewed as a strong, versatile, defensive combo guard who can play multiple positions while being a strong three-point shooter.

With the season start to begin in November, it is not know when James Jr will make his debut for USC with his focus remaining on a full return to health before being cleared to return to sport.
