Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell's tears down to 'difficult' family news
Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell has opened up about her "difficult" family news after sparking concern with her tearful comments on last week's show.
After receiving their scores from the judges, pro dancer Dianne, 34 and her 20-year-old celebrity partner Bobby Brazier seemed glum. Dianne held back tears when she spoke, saying Bobby had been her "rock" through her "emotional week". Dianne has since revealed what has been bothering her in a Q&A on her YouTube channel, in which she broached the subject following messages of concern from fans.
She said: "I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all. Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously, that affected me. Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that."

The Strictly pro revealed she had received some "difficult" family news (instagram/ @diannebuswell)Dianne's sad news comes after she posted a cryptic message on her Instagram where she hinted there was more to the story. The picture showed a large circle, which was labelled "someone's life", with a smaller circle showing how much those on the outside "know about it". Above the image was the text: "Why you should be kind to people."
On last week's live Strictly show, both Dianne and Bobby seemed flat, even after being awarded a respectable 30 out of 40 from the judges. As she appeared to well up, Dianne said of Bobby: "He has just been a massive rock this week, so thank you." When asked how he felt, Bobby said: "Just emotional. It's been so, so emotional all week." Dainne leaned into Bobby and hugged him close.

After the couple shared the moving moment, Bobby posted a message of support for his Strictly partner. Alongside a series of photos and videos of the pair from the night, Bobby wrote: "My dear coach to learn from, friend to feel it all beside and big sister to drive loopy". He thanked his followers for their votes, with Dianne replying: "Me bestie. So proud of you love from COACH."
And the pair's body language and emotion towards each other is authentic, according to communication expert Judi James. Speaking to the Mirror, James said: "This is an authentic and slightly off-brand display of emotions as Dianne seems to hint at problems behind the scenes here in a way that almost flirts with the viewers' interest but without coming up with the goods in terms of what has prompted her tears and her meaningful comment."
