UFC censors Francis Ngannou T-shirt ahead of Tyson Fury crossover fight
The UFC has blurred out a t-shirt with Francis Ngannou's name on it in a bid to seemingly eradicate the former heavyweight champion from their history.
Ngannou parted ways with the UFC at the beginning of the year after his contract expired with the promotion, vacating his heavyweight title in the process. Part of his reasoning for the split was to pursue a big payday in boxing, something he will get next weekend when he fights Tyson Fury to kick off Riyadh season in Saudi Arabia.
Former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who is a close friend of Ngannou's and fights Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 on Saturday, recently appeared in an embedded episode ahead of his upcoming fight. Usman was wearing a t-shirt that had text blurred out on it, something that caught the attention of Ngannou on social media.

The company sells merchandise with the names of several sporting greats on it, such as legendary boxers Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.
Upon browsing the Roots of Fight store, a green t-shirt with the words "Ngannou - Cameroon, Africa" that resembles the same one Usman is wearing in the episode can be found. The company then replied to Ngannou's tweet about the t-shirt: “Looks familiar… whatever it says, it’s no doubt a dope tee.”

Roots of Fight then posted a picture of Ngannou modelling the t-shirt in question as another picture emerged of former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya also wearing the product. African-born trio Usman, Ngannou and Adesanya all reigned as champions in their respective divisions at one point in UFC history.
Usman was forced to downplay rumours that he is suffering from a knee injury heading into his fight against Chimaev after fans were convinced he said the words "something popped" during an open workout. “It just goes to show how crazy people just jump on news and media," he said. "Whoever started it [the rumour], how could you have possibly heard what I said?”
