Amazon shoppers are taking no risks with their favourite shoes this winter, saving them from weather damage by using the Kiwi Rain & Stain Protector.

The £9.99 spray hailed as a "must-have for suede" and "a bottle of liquid gold" by customers, protects shoes, bags and outdoor equipment against rain, stains, salt and dirt and is especially important for material that is susceptible to water damage such as suede or leather.

Promising to waterproof and stainproof your belongings for up to 15 raining days, one shopper took their winter boots out into heavy rain after applying the spray and said that the product was "easy to apply and worked completely."

Other shoppers said that the Kiwi spray is ideal if you've purchased a pair suede shoes, such as UGG boots or Adidas Gazelles, commenting it was their "go to when buying new suede shoes" and they "wouldn't use anything else".

Another penned that it "does exactly what it says on the can. I have protected all my UGG boots with it and and haven't had to re-treat them yet."

Available to buy on eBay for £9.99 as well as Amazon, to use, shake the can well and holding 20cm away from the shoes, spray and coat them evenly twice before letting them dry for 30 minutes. It is recommend that you spray your shoes outside as some people have mentioned that the "smell is very strong" but "if used in well ventilated spaces, the smell disappears quite quickly."

For a cheaper alternative, the Sneaky Spray Shoe Protector is available on Amazon for £2.79 and is also getting rave reviews from shoppers who say that it is "amazing".

One person said of the spray: "This stuff is really great. I followed the instructions and applied two coats and that was it. I didn't think much else about it until I was at a wedding about a fortnight later. It had rained earlier that morning so much of the day was spent standing around in damp grass. Whilst both my brother's and the groom's suede shoes looked shabby and damp mine remained immaculate all day."

To further protect yourself from wet weather, we've found a rain-proof jacket that shoppers say "doesn't let a drop of water through."
