Amy Dowden's life off-screen - new husband and their stunning marital home
As one of the most accomplished ballroom and Latin American professional dancers in the UK, Amy Dowden is a firm favourite amongst Strictly Come Dancing fans, and her presence has been sorely missed in this year's series. Back in May, the 33-year-old announced that she'd been diagnosed with breast cancer, and has since been keeping Instagram followers updated on her chemo journey, all while using her platform to raise awareness about the life-saving importance of early detection.
Viewers were delighted to see Amy make a surprise Strictly appearance on October 7, looking as glamorous as ever in a sparkling white dress. Looking just as thrilled to be there, Amy beamed: "I'm over halfway through treatment and chemo. I can't wait to be back with you all." As Amy continues to document the highs and lows of her life away from the dancefloor, we take a look at her marriage with her new husband, and their gorgeous marital home.
Love with new husband
Amy met her now-husband Ben Jones through their shared love of dance, with the twinkle-toed pair's love story beginning in 2011. The couple made history in 2016 when they became the first all-British pair to win the British National Latin Dance Championship. The following year, Ben popped the question on New Year's Eve, and Amy happily accepted.
In July 2022, the two professional dancers tied the knot at the luxurious wedding venue Oldwalls, amid the breathtaking natural beauty of South Wales' Gower Peninsula. Speaking with Hello! magazine at the time, Caerphilly-born Amy said: "I always knew I wanted to get married in Wales. It was a day I'd dreamt of since I was a little girl and, well, it was even more than that. Everything was perfect – from the flowers to the food to partying all night long."
The newlyweds have had to deal with some very difficult times together in their early months of marriage, with Amy receiving her cancer diagnosis before they'd even been married a year. Marking their one-year anniversary in July, Amy took to Instagram with a series of beautiful wedding snaps, writing: "One year since our special day with our favourite people. What I would do right now to re-live this perfect day. Not the anniversary or year we certainly had planned but I am sure and determined to have many more better ones with you! Thank you for being by my side, spoiling me, being Mr positive when I'm not, and choosing to love me! Love you always."

In a recent pic, Amy and Ben could be seen smiling while out enjoying brunch together, with Amy sporting a new dark brown wig. According to Amy, Ben was treating her as she was having a "good day", and followers were glad to see the pair out enjoying themselves.

Amy and Ben live in a sleek and stylish modern home, complete with a swish kitchen with a grey colour scheme and integrated appliances. Double doors in the kitchen open out onto a spacious garden, where Amy previously threw a fun garden party to celebrate her 30th birthday, complete with a prosecco bar.
As you might imagine, the couple's living room includes nods to their various impressive achievements, with the Pudsey Glitterball trophy from when Amy won Children in Need Strictly back in 2017 proudly displayed. Their home also includes plenty of keepsakes, framed photos, and plants, giving it a homely feel.
