'Glamorous' girl's baby name predicted to spike in popularity in 2024

Finding the perfect baby name for your little one is one of the most challenging decisions you have to make before having a child. There are countless things to take into consideration, including whether you want to name them after a family member or draw inspiration from elsewhere.

It's common for parents to be inspired by pop culture, from celebrities to huge TV shows, and there are some more traditional names that always come back into fashion. Every year there's a list of the top baby names that parents have used, with many of the same monikers returning year after year.

Baby name experts can even predict what will be popular the following year, with Nameberry creator Pamela Redmond expecting one particularly glamorous name to surge in 2024. She said: "Today's parents are fixated on sending the right messages with the names they choose. The perfect baby name for 2024 is one that is ahead of the style curve, personally significant, and identity-defining."

The name in question is Estelle, which Pamela describes as "quiet and luxurious". Estelle is a girl's name from the Latin word stella, which means star. According to Pamela, Estelle is likely to surge in popularity in 2024, as it "oozes glamour and class", and appears to be "effortless and chic". This is also because of the current "old money" trend, or "quiet luxury" trend, which is a way of appearing like you've inherited large sums of money - this includes exuding wealth and class without resorting to flashy or extravagant pieces.

Other "naturally glamorous" names mentioned by Pamela included Archie, Conrad, Celia, Gaia, Harvey, Mabel, Magnus, Petra, Talia, Thea and Viola. When predicting names that will be popular in 2024, Pamela also reported that unisex names are on the rise.

She said names that are traditionally seen as 'girl names' are becoming popular for boys too. This shift has been popular with celebs, as seen by Rihanna and A$AP Rocky who named their son Riot Rose, and Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, who named their son Wren. Other predicted names are Artemis, Cleo, Lotus, Eden, Fern, Harlow, Hazel, Jade, June, Rose, Willow and Carmen.
